This restaurant offers an extensive 7 euro menu as well as a standard menu. The atmosphere is relaxed and the servers were friendly. I had the sea bass and it was very tasty. The view is great and the sound of the sea while you eat makes it more enjoyable.

The location is wonderful, right above the crashing waves, its main USP.
Prices are reasonable.
Service is friendly, unfortunately the food delivery is a bit like Wagamama’s, it come out when it’s ready, so please don’t expect everybody at the table to be served at the same time, (not just our experience, but those around us too).
Quality of the food it ok, I had beach fish, a little overcooked, my partner had chicken in sauce, very dry, chewy chicken 😕
TBH wouldn’t go back.

This was a new one for us but we went back twice. The tapas were great with plenty of choice and the service was first class and friendly. If you are stitting on the street level at high tide, expect to get wet up sit upstairs. Would happily recommend and will return

Having had Chinese and Mexican, we thought we really should try something more local. We decided on the cherne(or rock grouper) with Canarian potatoes. The fish was beautifully cooked and very tasty, while the roof terrace had a great view over the bay. At €21.50 for two, including a glass of wine and large beer, it was also exceptional value. We just wished we'd tried it earlier in our holiday and had time to go back.

This place was recommended by our Airbnb host. She said that the Cuban mojitos were cheap and fantastic. We just had to come. The terrace view looks out into the bay with the red rock in view. At the right time, the service is fantastic. The young men who are servers do their job very wel. When they are not there, service can be slow and even inaccurate, i.e orders taken but food not getting there. However, that is a small thing to put up with for everything else that is good. The quality of food and the prives are unbeatable. This is no tourist trap.

We may have been unfortunate, but several things were not perfect during our visit to the restaurant:
a) Booking performed on web (and confirmed by email), but when visiting restaurant we got the message that 'it doesn't work'. However, they quickly arranged for a table so that was good.
b) Kitchen was obviously overloaded, as we (2 persons) got our food in the following order over ca 30 minutes: Chips - King prawns - and after 30 minutes grilled fish with chips.
c) The food was OK, but the second serving of chips was cold when served.
d) SInce it was close to 30 minutes between the two main courses, the experience was noty that great...

Simple well prepared food and not expensive, the waiter was hilarious and made it that much more enjoyable. If you're looking for upscale this is not it but the food is superb, unpretentious and great value. if the waves are coming in strong its probably best not to sit on the terrace to you may get wet!

Last week, we went to eat at this restaurant, where we decided to order fish to eat. We asked the waiter for a recommendation between the two fish that were available (one for €12 and the other for €15) and he offered us the fish of the day, without telling us that the price TRIPLE that of the other fish. When we went to pay we realized that they charged us 40 euros for a fish that we don't even know what it is, since on the ticket it appears as "Fish 40E".

A place and a lousy lunch.
The facilities were somewhat dirty, the bathroom without paper or soap, the kitchen windows open where good hygiene was not appreciated, encouraging insects or any other animal to enter. Cook with mandatory clothing but a man who was inside entered and left the kitchen without his corresponding clothing. Then that same man, with a cloth that was used to clean the tables, cleaned his arms and then the tables that were going to be occupied by other customers. AWFUL.
Now, talking about the food we ordered was equally terrible. They brought us to the table some potatoes that were not wrinkled before the starters...the octopus tapa was not good and very expensive to make a tapa. Then, they forgot about the croquettes, we had to ask for them, but they didn't look like croquettes, it just had a "nutmeg" flavor. When they brought the main dish, which was supposed to be cantarero and fresh cherne, only the cherne appeared, which was tasteless, flavorless, without salt, and lacked fire.
Without a doubt some of the worst experiences I have had in restaurants dedicated to seafood cuisine.
I will NEVER return.

We stopped here to eat about 4pm one afternoon. It was time for the staff to take their break, but it didn’t prevent us having excellent food and service.
The four of us had some of the freshest fish we have ever had. The head man served us. He had a half a Jurel fish that he needed to sell as a table had just brought the other half - and when it came on the bone, it was enormous and expertly cooked. Moist and succulent. Canadian potatoes, salad and some wine for a total of 67 Euros. Great views, great service with a smile, clean loos. Fabulous find.

Disgusting, dirty, shameless runners. The worst place on el medano and from the bottom of my heart wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Especially for dinners as the food is cooked ages ago and probably got warmed up 100 times. Even if you decide to eat there, be careful as they may offer you some extra foods like for free but you will pay, thanks god I understood it and said no. Be careful with drinks as they don’t give a menu and then you get surpised by the price.
This place ruined my Sunday but I will just forget it and hope that I may save someone who will see this testimony

Only wanted a quick drink, we were very lucky to get a table, I would suggest booking, especially on a Sunday.
Looking at the other diners, we couldn’t resist ordering the beach fish with potatoes and we were glad we did. Perfectly grilled with side salad and Local potatoes. All for €8.50 a head!

If eating over the sea with excellent service from the staff is not enough for you, enjoy some delicious potatoes with one of the best green mojo we have tried on the island. The clams with marinara sauce were also 10. The only downside was we ordered prawns and they were prawns but I would definitely return.

This small restaurant is situated in a good area, with a good view by the sea.
Tenerife’s restaurant (the majority) don’t have a good accuracy for the service.
Unfortunately I have to be disappointed with this “El Timon” since we seat and we only received from our order, the food that was already prepared in the showcase displayed at the entrance.
With no care, waitress and runners didn’t do any good service or a smile, leaving 2 stars because of the view but this restaurant has potential, a lot.
Will not go back.

This restaurant is rustic! But if you are ok about that and you’re not in a hurry, it’s great. My wife and I both had cherne, the local Canarian white fish, and it was so good. It must have been really fresh because the flakes of fish just fell onto the fork - and beautifully cooked. The Cuban waitresses were fun, but they don’t take prisoners. Apart from the excellent food, it was also extremely good value. So many thanks.
