I have just had the pleasure of eating at Bar Dia. A small pretty well hidden gem of a restaurant serving home made delicious tapas. In an area of over priced, over rated eateries populated by sanctimonious people and thats great. Please leave this place for people who want great mallorcan food at a great price with the locals. 4 tapas, 2 beers for under €28 big portions hence only 4. Absolute gem. Visit soon.

Genuinely an unreal find this given it's surrounded by overpriced and underwhelming bars and cafes. You can tell it's a great place from the amount of locals who drop in, know the staff by name and have a quick drink and a bite before moving on.
All of the food we tried was really good, authentic, and very fairly priced. If you after somewhere for a quiet sit-down evening meal this isn't for you - if you want somewhere authentic to try some tapas and a few drinks then this is the place.

We tried some very expensive restaurants during our stay in Palma but none came up to the quality/value/service we received in this little tapas bar. Very comfortable eating area with a great atmosphere. Staff were super efficient and friendly so we found ourselves returning more than once!

Lovely tapas bar with plenty of bar seating and small tables suitable for solo and couples in the bar area, with an adjoining seating area for bigger groups. Lots of fresh selections; the bread was so fresh it was hot and the calamares were absolutely beautiful. Two large beers, one small, bread, calamares and Serrano ham for €28, so not bad at all for the centre of Palma.

Great local food and service, lovely atmosphere. Fast service and fresh ingredients. Humble place but everything is so nice! Absolutely recommend to come here! We have had patatas bravas, olives, bocadillo, grilled garlic shrimp, grilled seabass, garlic muhsrooms. Everything has been fresh and great quality.

In a street filled with overpriced tapas restaurants aimed squarely at tourists, we stumbled across this place which seemed to be frequented mainly by locals. Great range of tapas dishes, great cold beers, great selection of wines & great service. All in all, a very enjoyable lunch!

We try because the4 tripadvisor's stars, but far away from the reality. The aliloli potatoes were not done (not boiled enough, were hard) the alioli was like a light mayones and the fried anchovies were refried at least 2 times, so that we colud it it.
It was expensive enough for the poor food quality.

A local restaurant that we came to on a recommendation and that exceeded our expectations. There are many who want to eat here because the food is both excellent and based on local recipes and history. There are few places and they are very cramped, but that is part of the folklore in such small, homely places.
If you want, you can make a reservation, and familiarize yourself with the menu in advance, because it will be difficult to make decisions about the choice of dishes on the spot, unless you know the local cuisine very, very well :-)
The waiters are smart, fast and speak many languages. They are very grateful for a tip, so be sure to leave it!

We visited bar dia twice on our recent trip to Palma. Even though they were packed out they managed to find us a table in the back section. We had tapas great sized portions at very good prices, also had the grilled fish, it was one of the best I’ve had dry and crispy. Staff were very friendly. Thank You

I found this amazing bar whilst exploring the backstreets of Palma. It was so much more inviting than the bars on the main streets near the Cathedral. I went in and sat at the bar the menu was easy to find and very helpful with the different translations. ( The staff were very friendly and appreciated my attempts of making my order in Spanish). I had a beer, patata bravas ( which had an amazing spicy sauce) and meatballs in a tomato sauce all cooked fresh. The bar had a convivial atmosphere and was a popular venue with locals and tourists. I can’t wait to visit again.

We visited one night and had such great food and drink we went back the second night. Really good prices and so authentic. The 2 guys that served us were very knowledgeable about the food and drink they served. Had great fun chatting with them and a joke about paying in oo- roes. We are useless at Spanish! Would definitely go back. It’s not plush but basic and very clean, we were sitting on stools at the bar or just nearby at the high tables. Great atmosphere.

Without being a spectacular place that promises minimalism, views or decoration, ....we found a place to eat fresh, comfortable, from the kitchen people preparing the product with care to the team that served us outside. Rich rich as Argiñaño would say. The best place I have eaten in Mallorca. We will be back

Simple and good tapas bar located in the city center.
Typical Spanish atmosphere...rustic decor and simple but homemade food!
We liked the tapas and the half grilled chicken ordered by our neighbors looked very tasty and well served..

We have been here several times - the staff are very friendly, the food - mainly tapas and typical local dishes - is very well prepared and served quickly. When all the tables are occupied it is a bit crowded, but the good food makes up for that. We would love to come back. Especially after a shopping trip in Palma, just the thing!

This is the place you want to find in a tourist city, in the centre: a place where you eat well, where you find kindness and where you don't spend too much. Slightly off the main street full of the usual tourist restaurants, there is this simple restaurant without too many pretensions. Yet when you sit down and what you ordered starts arriving you understand that you would go back again tomorrow. 1 Jamon serrano, 1 patatas brava, 1 croquettes with spinach, bacalao, cheese and cooked ham, 1 meat balls (5 amazing meatballs in space tomato sauce) and 4 glasses of decent fresh white wine. All very good for the modest sum of 42 euros. Very honest. Go there.
