Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I returned to this restaurant after years and I can confirm that trying their paella, with tastes linked to tradition and, for the curious, with the right amount of innovation (memorable paella scampi and fois gras) is an experience to live!
Antony is an attentive owner, very kind and recommended us (we were a large group) satisfying everyone's tastes.
Value for money more than fair.
Highly recommended!!!!

The place is very welcoming and characteristic, the staff is truly professional, as well as being super kind and helpful, the service is fast and also very accurate with attention to the customer that makes you feel pampered. The menu is very varied and of high quality, it allows you to taste different dishes and satisfy all tastes, the highlight is obviously the paella, the best in all of Formentera. As a connoisseur of Spanish culture I know that only here you can find the real Valencian paella, tasty, thin, crunchy, not soupy, but to be scraped with a spoon, a real specialty!! I recommend always leaving a space for desserts, even these are truly delicious such as the typical natillas with cinnamon. The value for money is excellent, you can hardly find better in Formentera. Book because you risk not finding a place!

Excellent paella served with skill (in the boiling pan complete with spoon) ... great professionalism and courtesy of the staff, only "one flaw": a deafening and continuous hissing, caused by the air conditioner located in the kitchen, we asked the staff for explanations who were forced to put up with it constantly, they told us that it cannot be turned off! Alas, a real shame, we hope it can be quickly remedied for the customers but above all for the staff themselves!
However we will return next year too!

I am not used to write reviews, least of all relative to formentera because always the spirit of the island leads to feel good and always meet great experiences, but unfortunately I feel compelled to do so to ‘save’ the evenings of those who perhaps arrive for the first time in this paradise.
Service between the non-existent and the irritating that nn was able to offer us nothing but 'paella', without even arguing the various real differences between the various versions.
Upon our arrival (in 2 couples) I ask if it was possible to have a taste of paella (for 2 people) and a series of shared appetizers, as they usually do in virtually all places... at this request the 'waiter' with irreverent and brazen act tells me that paella for 2 is for 2 and that for 4 you order it for 4.
I repeat the idea of a taste of paella and propose a general tasting, but it seemed that he did not even know the card; so we opted for Iberian croquettes (vote 4), Galician octopus (5) and anchovies (7), and then share a paella and a fideuá, both for 2 people.
I thought it was a joke when they brought the latter, thrown there with a spoon to eat them from the pan... when I asked if they could serve an encore in 4 dishes, as everywhere is done, they brought us 4 saucers and stops, leaving the pans to occupy 80% of the surface of the table.
At least half of the fideuá is back in the kitchen as well as a third of the paella... if I had been the resp or the cook I would have gone out to ask why...
Except for the wine (a good Albariño) and the anchovies of the Cantábrico... both I do not think of their production.
Exorbitant price for what we ate (46€ per person) certainly, in about 20 years of Isola, the worst experience ever encountered for quality and service.
Learn from those who have been doing this work with passion, love and dedication for years.

We took a Paella of arroz negro with pulpo, giving in to the insistence of the waiter, who twice advised us against the Paella de marisco and invited us to take this one. We listened to him, wrongly. The quality of the dish is low, the price is unjustified (60 euros for two people) for two portions of cuttlefish ink rice with an overcooked and stringy octopus tentacle. If for the waiter this was the best paella available, I wonder how the others were...

I'm sorry to have to share a disappointing experience that I and two other friends of mine had at this restaurant which was recommended to me by one of the two present. Despite the glowing recommendations, I found many aspects that completely disappointed me.
Once seated at the table we order a fried dish to share and a paella for three.
The fried food wasn't bad, I've had better but let's say it was acceptable.
The squid ink paella, which should have been the highlight of the restaurant, left a lot to be desired. It was served to us in a huge, practically empty pot with a piece of octopus in the centre. The portion was very small and the rice was overcooked and dry stuck and encrusted to the pan.
Having said that, to get clarification, I asked the manager if they had made a mistake in bringing us such a small portion and we were treated very badly. The manager's nervous and unpleasant reaction left us speechless. A truly unpleasant person.
Furthermore, I couldn't help but notice that the price was excessively high for the quality of the food and service offered. Not only did I pay more than I should have, but I also left the restaurant dissatisfied and feeling like I wasted money.
I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, despite it being suggested by a friend. It was a frustrating and unpleasant experience, and I hope the restaurant takes customer feedback into consideration to improve in the future.

We have been visiting restaurants in Formentera for a week and for us it has been a disastrous experience (taking into account the reviews), the owner can tell by the treatment that he is tired of tourists, the food is very expensive and scarce. We ordered ham croquettes (the only thing we liked), scrambled eggs (12 small eggs) with ham (from a barquette) and eggs. An Iberian paella (the same very scarce and very dry rice) and a sea bass (piece of sea bass on top of a pear tomato with a slice of mozzarella). We really feel cheated. However, right in front we discovered the Can Forn and saw heaven, a restaurant with reasonable prices, quality, quantity and exquisite service. I really don't understand the exorbitant reviews for the restaurant because they don't deserve them.

We were 4 to have dinner 2 days ago
The waiter from Piacenza suggested we take a Marisco paiella and a cuttlefish ink one
The first cost 50 euros the second 60 euros
As an appetizer of soft and tasteless potato croquettes
The paiella was raw rice attached to the pan that should be eaten by scratching it to the pan as the waiter had suggested
What about it?
Bad experience

It was our favorite place to eat Paella, every time you came to Formentera it was a fixed stop!!
Last night I think I ate the worst Paella of my life!!! Fish without flavor and nn fresh, a great smell of ammonia in the hands after dinner for peeling the shellfish!! We learned only upon returning to the hotel from the staff that the cook changed

Terrible experience: a highly praised and advertised place. We arrive and it was practically deserted, already at the entrance we could smell the bad smell of old fish. Starters without infamy and without praise, very messy. We ask for a traditional paella and the waitress tells us it is authentically traditional, with grandmother's original recipe. He returns with an anemic colored paella, 4 prawns and 4 scampi on a cross. The only flavor I noticed was that of salt and ammonia from the old fish. In addition to the paella, the bill was also very expensive. Very expensive and pretentious compared to the absolutely poor offer.

driven by good reviews we booked in this restaurant. Dinner started badly with warm ham croquettes externally and cold internally, strange for a dish that should be cooked expressly; we continue with inedible paella with bad quality fish’. Worst dinner I can remember in years. Only positive note the good wine recommended.
Stay away from me!

Very positive experience, trusting the excellent reviews on the web. Pleasant environment, convincingly innovative cuisine.
Following the advice of the leader of the place, an Italian boy transplanted to Valencia, we devoured the baked aubergine chips, as crunchy as the potatoes. Then an excellent paella de marisco. Embarrassed by the choice of desserts, we opted for the mixed chocopops, melted mars, oat biscuit and chocolate: not dietary but enjoyable and worthy.
My only regret was having taken the rosé sangria and not the red one. Extremely helpful and well-taken staff. €50 each in line with Formentera prices. Advised? Yes, it's a lot. I admit that from the outside it doesn't look like an unmissable place, but once you enter it is in all respects.

We returned to this restaurant after 4 years, what about I remembered a paella worthy of the name instead we found ourselves eating a plate of rice hard, dry, attached to the pan and moreover scarce fish and any flavor.
The disappointment was so great.
at least when the bill arrived the pot was discounted by 50%
When a customer expresses a criticism in a polite and constructive way the manager should just accept it without necessarily deepening why I did not like the dish.
Excellent cheesecake

Like every year we went with my partner to dinner at the restaurant
Mariterranea, an unmissable stop..
Anthony the owner is super kind and available, now a dear friend for us.. always ready to advise you and explain the house specialties as best as possible.. for us, the paella de marisco is a must..
accompanied by octopus croquettes and Jamon serrano... Super sangria!!! and last but not least the best cheesecake in the world!!!!
(Knowing of our arrival and our love for pistachios even made us find the pistachio cheesecake exclusively... off the menu)
UNSURPASSABLE!!!!

Bad bad bad, tasteless croquettes, aioli to probably forget from the jar from the supermarket. When we pointed out that the aioli only tasted like mayonnaise, the boy serving us got annoyed and never showed up at our table again. A little bit of humility might help.
Ps: those who leave a low review are responded to badly by the property, see also the "maps" comments.
Accepting criticism can make you improve.
