Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’ll cut to the chase. They served me rancid lamb. Upon starting the lamb dish toward the end of the meal, it had an interesting smell and seemed very gamey, but here I was at a Michelin-starred restaurant in San Sebastián, so I gave it...a few more bites. I asked my friend what hers was like and we quickly realized that hers was fine, but mine was rancid!! Rancid is the only word - not undercooked, not overcooked, just inedible and reeking in smell. I told the waitress and she told me she couldn’t smell it, because she is a vegan. She also said that the Chef had already left for the night. The restaurant was almost empty the whole time we were there, but it was not even 10pm. All she did was comp our wine pairings (maybe 27 euro each) and was very rude. I braced myself for what was to come. Bed and bathroom ridden, and dehydrated, for the remaining 2 days of our trip. I would encourage everyone to avoid this restaurant, and I would advise the Michelin group to revisit.More

This was a disappointment on every level. The restaurant was empty for a good reason. The food was not good, the service was chaotic and the atmosphere was stark and unwelcoming. My husband had the hake dish. The fish had a very strong fishy flavor...and may not have been fresh. I had the local peppers, which were simply roasted red peppers like we get at home in the deli counter.More

“Jamon Taco” is unexpectedly delicious!Looooooooove it so much!!!The pancake of Taco was replaced with cheese, which is perfect for Iberian ham! Miss it! Every time when I come to San Sebastian, I always come to sit down at the terrace of this restaurant, drinking a...cup of coffee, listening to the waves and basking in the sun, enjoy a wonderful afternoon. I look forward to returning to this place for a cup of coffee soon after everything is back to normal!More

We had a gala dinner in this restaurant as part of an academic congress. The restaurant has a great location in San Sebastian. The food was very good (some starters could be better and less bitter) and the service was a bit slow (we felt...like ignored at some point and we had to ask for the same drinks several times). Overall, the place is worth the visit!!More

Perfect setting close to the beach. We went in because it was time for lunch - and the place looked inviting. Confused at first - trying to understand what and how to order. The inside was quite dark and not really what we were looking...for, but a very helpful waiter found a table outside for us and helped us through the menu. Small plates- similar to tapas - and interesting offerings. The servings were generous, full of flavours and presented well. Good wine by the glass. The service was friendly and professional. We couldn’t believe our luck in getting a table there. Many people were turned away. It was one of the best dining experiences in San Sebastián.More

Bad paella. Service not friendly. No hygiene. Good sangria and Limonade. Horrible WC. Dirty. This restaurant isn’t worth the prices they have.

Hotel recommended this restaurant but was extremely disappointing. Many staff looked at us and walked straight past us many times until we asked to have a table. We should have left when this arrogant attitude became evident. The food was expensive and quite poor in...quality and taste. Even the bread served was stale. I do not recommend going there —try other restaurants that welcome you and have food reflective of quality and culture.More

Came here on a Sunday night less than half full. We had to ask several waiters for a table, no one came to greet us when we walked in and offer us a seat. The restaurant was recommended by our hotel - everyone in there...were tourists - a tell tale sign of an average eatery! Service generally was pretty average. Starter a tuna pintxos - tasted of canned tuna and some herbs. Main was a squid rice dish to share, the rice was flavoursome but the serving small for 2 with 2 pieces of squid. Expensive for what it was. Ambiance was lacking. There are much better restaurants in San Sebastián and in Gros to go to. Research and book ahead.More

Expecting a romantic dinner with my girlfriend, went for the ‘Tasting menu’ including wines. Even though the price of the menu seemed hopeful we were treated very badly.. Food was ok however we had no time between the courses and the staff was rude. When...we wanted to pay the lady did not pay attention and literally threw the paying terminal to us. €105 down in the bin, would definitely not recommend this place ... Love San Sebastián though, had a great evening exploring the rest of the city centre ;)More

On the last day of our Basque road trip we had lunch at Ni Neu - beautifully located at the river mouth in San Sebastián. We were placed at a table outside behind the restaurant - a beautiful spot under the sun shade. We ordered...the gazpacho and daily special: sea bass in salt crust for 2 (or 3-4; it was massive). We also had one of the best wines of our trip there. All dishes were of high quality, and the sea bass was cooked perfectly. The service was professional, personal and fun, and we couldn’t have wished for a better final lunch of our trip. Thanks Ni Neu!More

Looks very nice from the outside but looks can be deceiving. The service was not good, very rushed as if they were keen for us to leave. The food was really not very good. The starter was a line of pastrami with a chip laid on one end and...you were advised to roll the beef round the chip. How exciting is that ! The slow roast lamb was just meat with a small portion of sabayon on one side of the plate, nothing else. There are much better places to eat.I would give this one a miss.More

My expectations were higher. The service was friendly but not so competent. They missed one of their appetizers that I ordered, but we're happy to take it off the bill. Food was OK but really nothing special. The fried squid was exactly that. Did not...expect my lamb to be cold as a main entrée. Had a few issues with cork in my wine which they replace the glass. I was told that I couldn't have regular water that I had to pay and in the end they gave me regular water. The ice cream in my dessert was melted. It was not an on unpleasant meal but I don't think I would spend the money to go back. Too many other choices in the city.More

A friendly restaurant by the Kursall beside the river. My husband is in a wheelchair and access was easy with automatic doors. The only barrier was people clustered in the bar area which leads to tables. We had the tasting menu with matched wines. We...were not rushed and really enjoyed the new flavours and combinations. I will try to add pictures. It was €38 each + €12 each for the wines and the amount in the glass was not insubstantial! We also had 2 bottles of water at $2.50 each. Not a cheap meal, but we did relish it!More

Enjoyed a four course menu with a party of 30 people, food and service were good - perhaps a tiny bit overpriced but then again there was a LOT of wine. :) Nice place and excellent location, you won’t leave hungry either.
