Stopped here last night for dinner I expected the food to be great and they exceeded our expectations. We had the octopus with pork over mash potatoes and the catch of the day which was monkfish. There was great presentation, great service, and of course it was delicious. It seems you should make reservations, we were able to get a table as it was raining very hard but there were alof of tables that appeared to be reserved.

Our hotel manager recommended this place to us so we spent our last evening in San Sebastian there. It took some finding, being a very narrow doorway leading to a staircase down to the restaurant. We were a little early and it was virtually empty - but soon filled up with locals 'in the know'. The food and drink were sensational, not least the octopus and panceta tapas. But everything was delightful and we would recommend this restaurant without reservation.

We ate twice while staying at a near by hotel Tabakalera, the staff is very professional and pleasant and the food is delicious! Very relaxed, friendly atmosphere and yet the food is nearing a gastronomique restaurant. I had one of the best foie, cannoli with mushrooms and ham. One of the best cuisine in San Sebastian in a relaxed environment. Its also child friendly we went there with our little boy who is 8 months.

We were delighted to book this restaurant on a day when the temperature hit 38 degrees in August and we were delighted with our find. A lovely local restaurant with good service and excellent food. We choose the rice in squid ink which was delicious. Next we had the baked monkfish, this was cooking at its best, the sauce was subtle and complimented the fish. Delicious food and great cooking at a lovely local relaxed restaurant.

Arrived in San Sebastian quite late so was grateful Usarbi Bodegon was nearby to our hotel and space to accommodate us for dinner. We had a good selection of food which we all shared. All were very good. Would certainly recommend.

Four of us had dinner here. There are only a small number of items on the menu and not enough to satisfy the four of us. We asked about the monk fish which was showing as 50 euro per kilo only to be told that we had to buy 1.5kg of fish as a minimum which would have cost 80 euro. We ended up having a selection of starters. The wine was pleasant and reasonably priced. The younger waiter was charming and we were grateful he could speak English as our Spanish was a bit limited. The older waiter was just plain rude and should get another job where he does not have to deal with people. All up a bit disappointing.

I fell into this restaurant with my boyfriend, while I was walking around Gros. We were really surprised for the particular dishes (pintxos or rationes) offered in the carta and in the day selection. We tried eggs with mushroom, eggs potatoes and bacon (lard cheek of pork) , jamon toast and ravioli with toro’s tail. Everything was delicious . Particularly we found here the best jamon ever of our holiday around basco region. Ravioli was absolutely insane so I warmly recommend it ! Waiter and waitress were also friendly. Alex

Er booked table at 9 PM, not a smile when er arrived, not even a smile from the femaile waiter during the one hour we stayed. We ordered duck, pork and entrecôte. The entrecôte was OK, the pork was average, the duck was nothing to eat and er left 3/4 behind. We told the waiter that it was quite hard to eat, and the answer was "yes".... What about the presentasjon of the meal; look at the picture. Sorry, but among 7 different restaurantes er visited this week, this was the worst. The femaile waiter just semed to want to go home, not to give the customers a great evening.

We were recommended this pintxos/restaurant by our hotel. We arrived soon after 8pm and found an empty table. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was excellent and the wine good. It was full of locals - we did not spot any tourists. Everything was clean and fresh cutlery and crockery kept arriving.

We ate wonderfully. To highlight the cuttlefish rice, the octopus, the centollo salad, the fish, the desserts... All well crafted and a service of 10! We'll be back!

Very well, I recommend not to go without tasting the croquettes and the octopus, and above all be advised among the excellent selection of wines

The extraordinary fish, we were very surprised. I recommend rap and torrijas. Good wines and excellent service, to repeat on any occasion.

An incredible monkfish. My wife and I went with the grandchildren and we were amazed at how good the monkfish was. A show. A small, cozy place with super friendly and attentive people. A place to go when you come to Donosti
