It's a mandatory visit if you come to Bilbao. It's not a fancy place and I liked much more the old distribution, but I am not the owner. This is a bar where you always know what you will eat and this has been the same for decades. The king of the sandwiches with the simplest composition and the most... More

Sandwiches by Eme are legend... Take it or leave it but that's incontestable...Unique in Bilbao, and I would say in the rest of the world... The formula: secret homemade spicy and mayonnaise sauces and house crafted amazing crusty bred... Beside that, the 16 euro daily menu is amazing. Simple but delicious. Really high quality products served with love and respect... More

All is homemade, including bread, there are two kind of sandwiches, the regular one and the tower (la torre) a bit spicy. people use to order to take away or just have in the bar........ this ad is oriented to foreigner visitors... Good (not great) sandwiches. With a whooole lot of tasty mayonnaise, a bit too much I would say. Its great for a cheap tasty meal, you can either sit down or take out (this one usually has a line a block length). Its a must when in Bilbao.

It is not strange that this place is packed at lunch time, they served good sandwiches, with a consistent and different bread that allows to put more of their good sauce.

I'm from Bilbao, and I have been many times there. Now, sometimes when I go home on holidays, I go there with my sister, that loves it. Well, they are very famous for their sandwich (and the secret sauce, that any worker that worked there can tell you), but they are living of the past glory. They are not so... More

Before I visited that place for the first time, my friend from Bilbao used to tell me how good they where, those simple sandwiches... After I've tried them every time I'm in Bilbao I have to eat them... I probably would never know their secret, but I know I will always go back... So special and yummy

It is a simple bar but the secret lies in their spicy sandwiches. Definetely worth trying but you have to like mayonaise since it has a lot.

The place might be not very cool or "pretty", maybe it's too small and it's always crowded, but the sandwiches they sell are just awesome! The speacial bread they have, the special sauce... they are really good! and nasty! A famous place for locals. I try to go once every year.
