This place was recommended by a friend and I echo this. I went for Saturday lunch, I had Black Rice with Squid and slow cooked Pig's cheeks, with a delicous basque dessert and a couple of glasses of more than decent Crianzas for less than...€25. What a bargain. If there is better value in Bilbao I didn't find it the week I was there. In a town of endless restaurants, this full of locals - always a good sign. Highly recommended.More

Excellent food and great staff. The waiter/manager explained the menu in English to us and was really helpful. Food was different and great. The only point I would ask them to change is to get rid of the plastic water bottles.

3 day trip to Bilbao and we stumbled across this place on day 1. It was so good that we came back on day 3. Cosy place with a great welcome. Menu is in Spanish, but all the staff were very happy to explain the...dishes and even show them to us before we ordered. We found it difficult to understand how they could produce such great food and give you 3 courses for 13,50€ a head including wine. FabulousMore

I ate here on a Saturday evening, they were offering a fixed menu with a choice from three options for main course. I was welcomed really warmly and the waiter explained each of the courses to make sure I was happy with them before I...sat down. A half bottle of wine, desert and coffee was also included in the price. The service was attentive and friendly throughout and the food cooked and presented to a really high standard. The restaurant is larger than it looks from the outside and extends well back from the narrow entrance, off a fairly quiet street on the edge of the old town. I’d really recommend trying this place as an alternative to the many in the old town which may have outside seats etc but in my limited experience were not as friendly or good quality.More
