First, I have to specify that this restaurant is in Granada, NICARAGUA. Not Spain. Second, although it still has many vegetarian dishes, it is not solely a vegetarian anymore. La Merienda may have been purely vegetarian in an earlier incarnation, but it has just reopened (as of mid-February 2014), and it is off to a great start as a Tex... More

The restaurant is located in the main street, a bit away from the pubs. The food is excellent and is much less expensive than in the foreign owned restaurants in the same street. There are a lot of vegetarian options with soya instead of meat. Great place!

Fresh tasty food and a great view; this comedor is located on the main street, yet away from the crowd. We went there for a family dinner, and each of us was raving about their food! The prices are very affordable to say the least, the food is great, the service is friendly and the owner comes out to talk... More

This was the best Tex-mex in all of Nicaragua! Perfectly spiced and super friendly service. Also great vegetarian options! Took a date their and she loved it. Quiet and a couple blocks down the main drag away from the obnoxious drunks. The burritos are excellent.

The food is finger licking good and under $3.5 USD. It takes a bit of time to get the food to the table but it is worth the wait. There are 21 items to choose from. Let me recommend Vegetables al ajillo and Vegetables Nicoya. Both platters are huge, delicious servings.

Description
Last week, my husband and I visited for our third time Granada and found, on Calle La Calzada, a little Nicaraguan-vegetarian restaurant named La Merienda which is very friendly and relaxing. The food was finger licking good and under $3.5 USD. It takes a bit of time to get the food to the table but it is worth the wait.
