Had lunch in the restaurant yesterday. The service is great and the menu looks good but the food is only ok. Maybe the tapa in the bar is better value

Old world charm and service. Popular among locals and tourists. You might want to reserve in advance.

The restaurant had a fancy appearance with very good seafood. My only complaint was that it was very hard to find something to eat that wasn't any kind of seafood.

I visited this restaurant purely on the basis of an old re-run of Floyd on Spain, that featured this fine establishment, or at least the one in Cadiz. I do not frequent establishment's of this quality often enough to have an informed opinion about value for money or quality compared with like eateries, I can only say how our party... More

The food was incredible, which a lovely choice of menus and the waiters were very attentive without seeming stuffy. We ate delicious fish dishes and a particular highlight was the raisin ice cream with PX drizzled over the top - my mum hasn't stopped... More

Very enjoyable dinner. It looks a bit old-world formal but the atmposhere was fun. The oysters were good starters. My wife enjoyed the one-person paella, my fish was good. All in all, a pleasant experience. Good wine.

We visited for dinner and enjoyed oysters, rabo de toro and monkfish. The fried fish of Cadiz was good but vegetables would have added to it. The waiters work hard and fast. Very entertaining. And the rest of the clientele were interesting to watch. Not in a bad way, just a nice mix of people. €140 with wine and an... More

Having seen this restaurant listed in our guide book we sort it out for lunch and was not disappointed. The restaurant is full of character and the service was very slick. I particularly enjoyed my salad with assorted fruits - a real change.

The dishes prepared are not any revolution. They are just regular Spanish local style. Their beauty lies in the perfectionism of the chef. They are simply perfect!

Description
El Faro de Cadiz is located in the traditional neighborhood of "La Viña", where Gonzalo Cordoba started with a small bar decorated as a sailor tavern, with nets and fishing stuff, with few wooden benches and tables. The customers came in search of the famous fried fish, called "pescaito frito" daily carried by fishermen of "caleta" beach. His daily concern and desire to excel led him to transform the local expanding and providing modern facilities. Now retired, his spirit of service and commitment to others is part of our principle to keep shining gastronomically Cadiz and we are proud to continue this work. El Faro Cadiz is still committed to the tradition to move forward and offer the best of our sea and our land to our clients.
