It's location is outside the city, you need a car to get there, but it makes up with their wide variety of great food! It's not cheap, but the quality and creativity of their dishes compensate. And it's location is very nice, you get to dine inside a real cave! And you get to try their amazing wine, and tour... More

the jamon was unbelieveable, so was the steak - cooked to perfection, we were looked after so well and the vegtables were amazing. We go to roquetas de mar every year as my grandma lives out there, and this is by far the best restaurant nearby. Beautiful food and great service.

La Gruta has always been our favourite restaurant when we are in the area. However, we were really disappointed when ten of us visited for a late lunch last week. The staff were lacking in smiles or personality, in fact, they looked thoroughly miserable! However, the owner and his wife did have more pleasant and welcoming attitudes thankfully. Food was... I had dinner with a group of six and we all thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. the restaurant itself is built into caves just of the sea front on the road between Almeria and Aguadulce. The atmosphere within is unusual which makes it extra special for a romantic dinner. The service was good. The food was, in my opinion, excellent and... More

I've been fortunate to spend a lot of time in Spain over the last year, some of it by choice & some because the boss sent me!!! We had to spend a few days in & around Almeria. I wanted my colleague to enjoy the experience. I first went here many years ago, located just of the coast road as... More

We visited at lunchtime for a drink and a tapas. The star is the restaurant itself. Tiled and dripping atmosphere. Tapas is cooked in front of you as you order it. I have to say that I have tasted much better tapas than this and the prices were a bit steep. However would recommend it to any visitor.

Fantastic restuarant superbly located for views and comfort, the whole restaurant is carved out of a cave and serves some of the best meat in the southern Spain area. I come here every time I visit and would recommend it to anyone who is in the area. You will need to get taxis to and from the restaurant as there... More

I must say, the suckling pig is really really good, ambiance though, not so much. Although it is a very special place, the lighting is really bright and the service is so so. They dont know a lot about the wines they have and if you work your way through the list( there is a lot of wine on it)... More

Very charming place...can't beat this for atmosphere. Huge, with many caves and alcoves so it's fun to explore. Food does not live up to the charm of the locale though...it's OK but not at the level of what you would expect from such a place.
