If you are in Dresden for a few days venture out of town on the no 11 tram and find this elegant 'schloss' given to the city a century ago after the death of Mr Lingler who made a fortune in oral hygiene. Outside terraces lovely on a fine evening, but inside great too (we had drink outside with blankets... More

What better way to spend a warm evening than eating on a terrace with magnificent views over the Elbe, then watching the sun set and the lights of central Dresden come on, while sipping a very nice dessert wine? The former Lingner Castle, a 19th century neoclassical building which is still undergoing restoration, now houses a medium-price restaurant and a... More

Fantastic riverside spot set in stately grounds. Easy to reach via tram 11 from the old town. Self or full service Biergarten. Unbeatable especially when the good weather is with you. Don't miss the vines directly below the terrace.

On a glorious sunny day we lunched here on the terrace. We had full service and ordered from the restaurant menu. Food and wine were very good and the view over the river to the city should not be missed. At one end of this large eating area is a small take away service if you are watching your budget.... More

Last Tuesday the Group Study Exchange Group of India arrived into Dresden as scheduled. We followed the program and visited several places of the city, which had not been flooded yet. For dinner we went uphill to the Lingner Terrassen, a beautiful restaurant in the "castle" of one of the most popular man called Karl August Lingner. He was one... More

An interesting small country house still being restored. There is a restaurant but not up to scratch yet. The staff are not confident and the food not too serious. Half of the terrace, which has a stunning view of the river, is a hamburger snack-bar, There is huge potential here, not yet realised. It is right next to Schloss Eckberg... More

You can enjoy a fantastic view over the city of Dresden from this place. The restaurant serves good food and drinks and has an attentive service. -Pork loin with chanterelle is excellent -The dessert was ok (not my taste), although you have to take some time (the kitchen is not the fastest) -The price performance ratio is very good.

The Lingnerterrassen in the Lingnerschloss (castle) in Dresden offers cuisine that should not be reserved only for the rich. Whilst guests enjoy the spectacular view over Dresden and marvel at the Dresden Elbe Valley, head chef, Mike Schilde, welcomes them with classic and innovative creations, but most importantly good hearty dishes. Visitors to the Lingnerterrassen can enjoy tasty delights on offer, such as, tender pork loin in Cognac cream sauce with potato croquettes and seasonal vegetables; crispy fried pike perch fillet in a Riesling-wine mousse, with cucumber and tomato salad; and creamy potato ragout, or potato cakes made with cottage cheese and cinnamon sugar, and homemade apple mousse. For pancake lovers, there is a great choice of pancakes with all types of sweet and savory varieties. Guests can also indulge in fresh homemade profiteroles. In accordance with the legacies of Karl August Lingner, the Lingnerterrassen is a place for all inhabitants and visitors to Dresden, where they can combine culinary delights with cultural pleasure.
