Although close to our hotel and old town sights, the food here was not good, and a couple of us ended up with upset stomachs later in the evening. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, chatting with us about local sights and things to...More

Location: it is perfect if you are hanging out around Old city and near most of attractive areas in Dresden. However, there are many means of transportation to take you to / from this area. Staff: Very nice and helpful Food: really good and delicious...More

Been there just for a coffee, but unfortunately they don't have any alternative milk so I hat to order a tea instead! But sad.

Service was slow, none of the food was cooked properly. Surf and turf had one prawn and tasted like it was microwaved. Cannelloni was disgusting. Was given a butter knife to cut a steak that was maybe thrown on the grill for 15seconds each side...More

Ate here with two friends whilst in Dresden for a weekend. We all met in Australia so always try to find an Aussie restaurant when we meet up. Found the food to be very good, plentiful and well cooked. Nice friendly service too. Would eat...More

...However, it opens later than most eateries in Dresden. And the old style Piano Man is very charming as he sings tunes that create an intimate dining experience. The gentleman pianist has a good voice too!! If you are wanton to order something Australian at...More

We were looking for a place to eat which is close to the main square and with reasonable prices. This is where we ended up. We were really surprised when we saw a kangaroo in the menu. Obviously we ordered it and weren't disappointed at...More

You are obliged to have a side dish. That makes almost 23 euros for an absolutely shameful steak and 1 defrosted shrimp

We were there to enjoy a cup of tea and we got a really bad impression of the waiters there: they treated us with contempt, as if they were doing us a favour. They wouldn't let us pay with 0,5€ coins. And when we wanted...More

Description
The Australian speciality restaurant is located in Dresdens bar street "Münzgasse" between "Frauenkirche" and "Brühlsche Terrasse"! This restaurant combines an exciting mixture of Australian colonial style and international flair. Down under is very close - the restaurant Ayers Rock, in the middle of the historic old town, is presenting the Australian cuisine. The menu contains both familiar and exotic dishes, for example red emperor, crocodile and ostrich steak. The restaurant speciality is Kangaroo Rump Steak, according to a traditional recipe. We also serve familiar delicacies such as traditional Sauerbraten (marinated roasted beef) and local kinds of fish. A wide range of sun ripened and regional wines complements the food variety. When you enter the restaurant, you feel like you have stepped into another world. The pleasant yellow of the walls shines like the warm australian sun. Impressive set in scene here, is of course the world famous landmark of the country, the Ayers Rock. Decorative palm fronds and small works of art of the Aborigines can be admired throughout the room and give a bit of australian flair. At the covered terrace, the lively bustle is passing-by and enchants every visitor - accompanied by some live music every day at the piano! The sanctuary Ayers Rock, is called "Uluru" by the Aborigines!
