Good cuisine, contrasting textures, temperatures, tastes...adequate portions. All packed in a nice and cosy ambient. The staff is up to the expectations. Definitely our favorite restaurant in town!

Nowadays a shopping and office complex, and also home to the restaurant, the remodeled venue not only used to be one of Germanys earliest cotton mills est. in 1799. One of the neighbor buildings next doorused to be home to Clara Wolfram, the sister of...Richard Wagner, who took shelter in 1949 for some time while on his way to Zurich on the run for being a wanted revolutionist in 1849. Enough history. The restaurant owners did an amazing job for remodeling the venue and transforming a former factory floor into an industrial style but cozy restaurant. And they didn't stopped when it comes to excellent food and wine quality, supporting local producers, as well as impeccable service. If happens to return to Chemnitz once, which is a bit off the beaten path for many tourists, but has some interesting things to visit, we definitely will try to book at Max Louis Restaurant again. And I would also recommend to friends. The place even is worth the extra hour to drive when in the area around. Thank you, Max Louis Team!More
Came with a large-ish group and was very impressed. It’s an old spinning factory and a great venue has been created with many individual features retained. The food was very good and considering the size of our group they managed a very high standard. Service...was charming. Heartily recommend it.More
o combine business with pleasure during a business trip. The Max Louis restaurant is an opportunity to discover an old factory (spinning cotton thread) converted into a beautiful place. The food is delicious, the wines perfect in combination. And some days there are musicians who...add charm to the place. To be returned several times, some servers, waitresses, are great and friendly, others just average.More
This is arguably the best restaurant in town. The setting in an old industrial complex is super-cool and stylish, the food and the composition of the menu is sophisticated, the staff well-trained and extremely friendly. Go here to enjoy a special evening
We was there for 1 year company celebrating. We eat steaks and other good foods. The steaks are the known best, and they are from local farmers and supporters. The quality is very high. Also the ambient is very nice for romantic dinner. The service...is good. They have every week some special main courses and desserts. Always nice there.More
The preparation and performance of an event for about 75 people with children was very enjoyable. From the quality of the buffet, the way the presentation and care (nachlegen) of the offered food we were very pleased. We were all very pleased.
a very nice (but expensive) dinner - definitely try the 'Tomahawk', a huge piece of excellent meat - don't be afraid to try out the typical meals, sauces, etc they offer - they are surprising, refreshing. Good and fast service!
I visited the restaurant several times and each time I was absolutely pleased. Even the restaurant being crowded the staff remains attentive and polite.
It is a hall of an old spinning machines factory, high roof, fine decoration including garn cones and a big screen playing a documentary about the now extinct textile machine industry of the region. An open kitchen with excellent grilling capabilities (both meat and fish)...no smells (fabulous air circulation) brick walls. Starters full of taste and imagination and a great assortment of pulled and fresh meat to grill as well as fish together with a big variety of side dishes. Nice wine list. One of the best in Chemnitz. Not to be missed!More
