Went there for lunch early afternoon - was pretty empty and quiet at the time. Service was good, the servers spoke fluent english, and the outdoor seating area was lovely. Now the food, I ordered a pork knuckle (all the reviews here recommended it), it came with mashed potatoes and traditional german cabbage salad as sides. The food was delicious,... More

Very traditional, seemed to be lots of locals in. Food looked nice but as our German is not so good we did not eat as we could not read the menu (not any bodies fault but ours). The staff are very busy, we sat for a long time before ordering drinks as they kept walking straight past us. Beer nice... More

This place is crowded and I had to share a table with strangers. The food is typical of what you would expect for a German beer hall. Beer was ok and my pork knuckle was acceptable. Price on the high side.

I really don't understand people complaining about poor service at this joint. It's like the old Yung Kee in Soho or a few other places around the world (quite a few in Germany) where brusque service is part ofbthe charm and authenticity. Learn to engage and give it back in the aproporiate style and you'll be fine. Great beer, decent... More

Typical cuisine and beer hall! Honest local food and flowing beer this place is a must if you want to experience German food. Not for the weak hearted though and vegetarians will have a hard time! The beer keeps coming throughout your meal. Always full and seating is at whatever table has space.

Nice beer, medium food. Very crowded. You might seat right next to someone you do not know at all. Service is fast.

If you wan to eat real German food this is the place. All the plates are excellent, from the Gulash suppe to the strudel but unfortunately there are three problems: 1) you need reservation 2) you will wait even with reservation and the service is terrible 3) No credit cards

Thought we would try this recommended German beer house . Food was ok not the best and not very hot . Waiter was the grumpiest and rudest waiter I have ever met . Didn't care at all especially as we were English . If you are like us and don't know any German do not expect to be helped through... More

At the end of an evening walk through Düsseldorf I went into this Pub for a last regional beer of the day. There are two secrions in this Pub - one where you can sit for dining and one which is a bit more rudimental for just having some drinks and smaller dishes. I have been in the latter one... More

I visited this restaurant with my fiancee two days ago and we had a starter two main dishes and a few beers. The food was good, but the service was really bad. The waiter was rude and when it was time to pay, he told us only cash no cards accepted! So I had to go and find an ATM... More
