The visit at Mandalay was indeed a bit disappointing, especially due to curiousness about cuisine previously unknown to me. We've decided to have main courses, I settled for a spicy chicken with vegetables. The chicken as such was correct, a breast cut into stripes. Funnily, the cutlery we all received consisted of forks and spoons, an the chicken pieces were... More

the food meant to be nice according to the overall trip adviser rating. But we were disappointed of being turned down due to one friend more than originally planned an reserved for due to "not enough chairs" ????? .... poor performance unfortunately

We had a great night at Mandalay: try the tealeafsalad and beef curry. Let the waiter advise you on what to order and you'll have a perfect Burmese diner.

All I can say is rather dissapointed. First of all, the service was very slow and some of the staff were cold and reserved with no comments or acknowledgement regarding their slowness. At the end I had ordered a Koelsch which they never brought and yet somehow managed to end up in the bill. The food was nothing out of... More

One of the very, very few Burmese restaurants in Europe. A nice small family business, reservation is required specially at the weekends. I visit this restaurant frequently during ten years now. Food is almost delicious and prices are fair. Some typical Burmese dishes are served, nor found in other restaurants, I love * Mohinga soup, the typical Burmese breakfast fish... More

Just to make a change from schnitzel and wurst, we stopped into this Burmese restaurant in the Belgian Quarter. It was our first experience with this cuisine, so no way to compare, but it was delicious. Duck breast with peanut sauce was divine. Staff are great.

This family restaurant run by Burmese people offers great food at a fair price. There are not many chances in Europe to enjoy Myanmar cuisine, and it's difficult to judge originality, but quality is very high, with fresh ingredients and surprisingly wrll balanced curries. Salads are a must. Service and ambience are fit for a family-run business - informal but competent,... More

the restaurant is small and boasts of no great ambience. but they more than make it up by the excellent food that they serve. we tried two kinds of salad as starters; it was hard to judge which one was better. there were six of us, and all of us enjoyed our dishes. our waiter gave us good suggestions [unlike... Mandalay is an outstanding restaurant in many ways. First, there are only very few Burmese restaurants in Germany, in fact, I have never been to another one. Second, the food is simply outstanding. The ginger salad and tea leaf salad are always a highlight as a starter. My favorite main dishes are "Fish a la Swe" (Swe is the owner... More

Place with no further ambitions than good and honest food and service. Located in Blegische Viertel it is nice to see the family sitted outdoor before dinner, cutting very lovely the vegetables for the dinner by their own. Honest proposal
