Have popped in here a few times for a bite to eat, great Nuremberger sausages, or a coffee and cake and have always found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Minutes from the Dom and Station but not a tourist trap and to me captures what I love about Cologne.

Visited this with recommendation from a tourist centre around the corner (safe to say I asked them nothing else after going here!). What started off as being a very quaint little restaurant quickly descended into something Gordon Ramsey probably should have been filming in the back. Food arrived after 25 minutes and continued to arrive for a further 15 minutes..... More

We were enjoying a family holiday in Cologne and visited this terrible restaurant. Ordered pepperoni pizzas and got green chilli pepper pizza and when we pointed out this was not what we ordered were told this was pepperoni. Coca cola ordered with ice (simple enough) were told they'd run out of ice but no problem as it was cold outside.... More

I ate lunch here, and found both service and food appealing. The cuisine is traditional German - lots of Wurst etc - but with a few other options for the vegetarian or non-carnivore. Good value overall.

When traveling in Cologne I always stop at Scholl’s café right around the corner from the Kölner Dom and the Hauptbahnhof. In twenty years, I have never been disappointed. With two young men for whom I was acting as tour guide, we stopped for lunch at Scholl’s on Toten Sonntag. It was a little late for lunch – 1:30 P.M.... More

First of all, the staff (at least the girl who attended us) was nice. That being said, we had stayed at an hotel who charged 40€ for breakfast, so we thought, better off finding a nice café. The café is very cozy and pleasant to be in. We went for the farmer's breakfast and the fitness breakfast which looked really... More

After a morning on a Rhine boat ride we went searching for lunch in the area of the Dom (Cathedral) and we stumbled upon this café. It is just down the street from the Dom. We shared two of their "pizzas" between the six of us. The "pizzas" were very thin light crusts with a white sauce as the base.... More

Forget fast food , rushing around, at Café Scholl thing run at a more genteel pace. It's a place of china and brass not plastic....and more plastic. A place to savour.

We were the first in that morning, made welcome by the staff and canary. Very good breakfast on beautiful china. Around the corner from the Dom, across street from St. Andrews - try and see this old church. Cafe Scholl was a warm welcome to the city of Cologne.

A nice find close to the cathedral & train station in an area dominated by fast food joints. Pleasant ambience with simply cooked food & enticing pastries. No canned background music -- just a canary in a cage!
