Traditional german ambience restaurant. If you are visiting aachen, you should try this. Their roast beef with onion cream sauce is perfectly cooked, juicy and tender.

Traditional German restaurant that dates back in 1698. Traditional cuisine, traditional deceration, good service. We visited Saturday night without having a reservation, but luckily there was a table left. Only complain the noisy environment.

This place has a great atmosphere, illustrious history, tasty Gaffel kölsch beer and wonderful tiled interior - but don't go here for the food. Admittedly our soup starter was palatable enough but the main courses!! My wife's Flammkuchen was stodgy and dull. My Sauerbraten tasted as if the chef had tipped an entire packet of cinnamon in the sauce, then... More

This is a small place on a small street and is reminiscent of former times. As it was established in 1698 that is not a wonder. the hosts are very accommodating. The sauerbraten was fantastic. The baked camembert was excellent. If you like traditional german food this is a must visit.

Last Friday, together with my lovely wife and our 6 'amazing kids', who had arranged a surprise weekend in Aachen to celebrate my 60th birthday, we spent a wonderful night at this 'very German' restaurant. We were surprised by the nice, charming, authentic atmosphere, excellent food, gute bürgerliche Küche, ehrliche Preise, fantastische Bedienung, freundliche Gäste, gute Musik, Ambiance, Jouissance, ....... Traditional and family-run restaurant. We had dinner in the nice garden and were very satisfied. The food is what you expect in such a place and includes many brewery classics: the roast beef, meat in aspic, herring in dill sauce, etc. The sides were well prepared, both the fresh salads and the sauteed potatoes. I would recommend this place both... More

Family run restaurant. The food, service, decor and atmosphere are all very "traditional". I really enjoyed it. Food is quite "heavy" and very meat / potato based. Just what we were looking for after a long day. As long as you don't come here looking for high gastronomy or a white glove service, you will be very happy.
