It had been a while since I had occassion to eat in the Upper Deck, however, the quality has not diminished in those years. I had the Cullen Skink which was thick, creamy and had lumps of tattie and fish in it. For the main course, I initially thought the chef had skimped on the chips, however, by the time... More

Went with a group of friends that we had told it was the best place in town, what a disappointment! 5 meals went back more than twice! Steaks were over cooked, then under cooked, cheese salad came with meat on it, a total disaster which was really sad for us all as none of us wanted to complain., just a... More

I ordered the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce... That's all you need to know! (Improvements could be made on the red wine but hey ho)

Upper Deck serves a good range of well cooked, well presented, reasonably priced food, especially steaks, and has a wine list to match.

A group of 4 of us had a steak meal each and everyone of us were delighted with the meal. This is the place to go if you fancy a steak. However, be prepared for basic surroundings as the place is a bit basic. Also expect a kid to serve you as everytime i have been it has been a... More

We came here after it was recommended by a the nice gentleman we spoke with on the Northlink ferry ride from Stromness to Scrabster. It was just what we needed after trying to put as much into our Orkney day as possible. Service was attentive, as we were served by two waitresses. the starters arrived Fresh from the scrabster Docks... More

Not quite where you might expect to find a good steak restaurant but it is. Food will be a lot better than first impressions might be as you walk in. Quantities are satisfying even for the very hungry and many will not manage three courses. Steaks are large... Interesting options for sauces but seem to work. Extensive fish menu as... More

Went out for dinner to the Upper Deck last night, was really disappointed. Had prawn cocktail which was smothered with a sauce that took the back of your throat out it was that tangy, asked for a medium well done fillet steak that came back well done and dry, chips didnt look fresh and usual over the top helping of...
