Typical pretty decent German food, with surprinsgly cheap prices. Great atmosphere as well, and good service. Worth a visit. Try the schwein haxe and apfel strudel.

I was taken here by some colleagues. Usually my heart sinks a little when I get invited out for some traditional German food but the food here is really good. As far as Apfelwein goes I can take it or leave it, but mixing it with sparkling mineral water does make it much more palateable

Been going there for many years. Real authentic style German restaurant. Took a big group of about 30 people. Was no problem to order a la carte even though we were with so many people. The food is outstanding like the goulash soup and the Vienna schnitzel. Great service. Great value for money. Very cosy place.

This is the sad story of one of the greatest and most traditional restaurants of Frankfurt gone to hell in a handbasket. I used to go to highschool just around the corner, so I've been going here for some 30 years. But today, staff are unfriendly (pretending that this is some wacky form of traditional charm; it isn't) and food... More

Highly rated among Frankfurt publications and on-line, but I would give it a 3 out of 5. Service was very good, but food and menu didn't differentiate AW from many other competitors. Mostly pork and Apfelwein (sour green apple wine...strong and really sour, but a standard in Frankfurt). Chase it down with a local "Pils" (pilsner beer, really good, no... More

If you want some authentic German food in Frankfurt, not too far from FRA airport, this place was good. Seemed like the most popular dish was the combo (not the name on the menu) that contained pork at least 5 ways. It comes with mashed potatoes, fried potatoes and sauerkraut. That was delicious! The down side of this place is... More

I always take foreigners to this place to show them the typical Frankfurt style restaurant. Everything works quick and the food was delicouse. The Green Sauce is one of the best in Frankfurt and for me a must. I still have to get used to the unfriedliness of the stuff which is supposed to be the style of the Apfelwein... More

I had the roasted pork which was cooked to perfection, crusty crust. Potatoes were normally in the menu and I asked the waiter if I could have dumplings. I had to wait a bit but it was so worth it. Good beer as well.
