It is a nice little restaurant hidden in the neighborhood close to Altona station. The food is good as well as the service. I think it is worth to go and try it.

I've been invited there by a friend who lives in Ottensen and very proud of every inch in that authentic Hamburg neighborhood. Our food experience there certainly added to his pride! This cosy small restaurant is open since 1919 and offers true local cuisine with...More

Next to the very good wine selection, which is dominated by north-European wines, they serve excellent food. The wine bar has a very cozy athmosphere and the first floor restaurant is stylish, but not posh. VERY well done!

Great athmosphere, food and service. Don't speak German? Don't get put off by the indecipherable menu, just ask the friendly waiter. Great place for a cold winter night. Very cosy, all wood around you. Food was excellent, we had deer bourguignon, fish dish followed by...More

We visited 'Zur Traube on a recent multi-city trip to Europe and it was our favourite restaurant of the whole trip. We were a little trepidacious at first as we don't speak much German and it seems like quite an up market place but the...More

The restaurant is small, cosy and traditional. The tables are close together and the place has an authentic 19th century feel (in a good way). The menu is not extensive but there is good variety - we had a choice of fish, rabbit, venison or...More

Description
The Zur Traube offers a romantic setting with its wood carvings and crystal chandeliers. The restaurant is popular with young and old and the wine goes down well. The panelled walls and narrow benches on the ground floor make it feel like the belly of a ship. With candlelight the mood is perfect. On the first floor you can choose what you would like to eat from the handwritten menu offering a choice of French and Mediterranean specialities such as Breton fish soup and braised rabbit served with potatoes. The staff are experts and will recommend just the right wine from the restaurant's fabulous wine selection.
