I had the privilege of eating my first German lunch at this restaurant. I was very pleased with the speed and professionalism of the staff. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful square next to the Steigenberger hotel. The food price is mid range. The beer is great. Well worth the visit.

I went to eat at this restaurant with my family. We noticed mice running around on the floor. The staff got annoyed when we mentioned this and wanted to leave. They said that it is normal in Northgermany. Well, I have lived Hamburg for a year now, and it is the first time I have seen mice in a restaurant... More

A good lunch in a nice atmosphere. I had asparagus and new potatoes with sauce hollandaise. Everything tasted good but in particular the new potatoes were delicious. Friendly service.

Enjoy an evening as in the Rhineland, brown wooden interior, grumpy waiters (without them it would not be fun !), and Kolsch beer until you put a cardboard on top of your glass.... food German, try the Rheinische Sauerbraten

We were a group of colleagues who were in Hamburg on a business trip, so wanted to have a nice German dinner on our last evening in the city. Two of us went there earlier, and three of us joined them a little bit later. When we arrived, we were told that the waitress was rude and took ages to... More

It was so busy so make sure you book! We sat at the bar waiting for a table for almost an hour. The restaurant is buzzing. Lots of laughter and the smell of yummy food. The food was great, good portion sizes and tasty. Would like to visit again with a booking though!

Years ago, I worked in Cologne for 5 years and was therefore attracted to this restaurant as a form of nostalgia and, in the event, we were not disappointed. Indeed, we had dinner here on 3 of the 5 nights we were in Hamburg. On our first evening, we were greeted by the gentleman standing behind his 'desk' at the... More

You only get one life, so at least make it fun! Based on this very motto, the Stndige Vertretung recreates the relaxed atmosphere of a Rheinland brewery serving Klsch (strong pale beer), Flammkuchen (pizza-like tarts) and great German food in a setting where politics, prominent figures and chips all come together! The cuisine is described as good honest food offering plain home cooking, taking you back to the days of the Bonn Republic. The Stndige Vertretung has capacity for a good 220 guests, both with and without an interest in politics! In summer guests can sit on the summer terrace right by the historic canal. From 11 November every year the Northern leg of the Rhineland Carnival kicks off, and it's not just where exiles from Rhineland can let their hair down!
