This place was recommended to us by one of the employee's at our hotel (not the concierge) and it was such a great recommendation! It's tucked back on a quiet street, but don't let that fool you -- it was one of the best meals...More

The trouble with eating on your own is you get shown to the worst table - I was almost in the glass-washing basin - but a request to move was graciously granted and I found myself in a warm welcoming semi-basement parlour. Excellent bier vom...More

We book the table before hand to celebrate my friends birthday. But unfortunately, we were really late and the staff of Das Dorf tried to call us to make sure that we are coming instead of giving the table away which we really appreciated. The...More

I will admit, the restaurant was filled to capacity and the service was cheerful and willing, but it was a total disappointment to us. The menu is short and unimaginative. Dinner was rushed. The restaurant was overheated. Our goulash was drenched in goopy, salty sauce....More

This is a very old traditional basement restaurant, low ceilings wobbly floor, great atmosphere. Food was basic but nice (fat), not a big menu, but good range of choices. Also good beers, at reasonable price. Service was brisk but professional, close proximity to main railway...More

This restaurant is easy to pass by even when looking for the entrance. It is located within a 10 minute walk from the Hamburg central train station in the basement of row houses - look for the sign outside in addition to the house number....More

This restaurant is hard to find - I walked past it twice, even with Google Maps on my smartphone. The stairs down do not seem to have any nameplate. The food was good and wholesome, although I found the sauce for the königsberger klopse a...More

This is a very nice restaurant in the central area of Hamburg. We tasted some delicious food: we were looking for something of the German tradition. The service is very good, the waiters are nice. The price is reasonable for the quality you get. One...More

Welcome to ‚Das Dorf’: Our restaurant has a decades-long tradition since it has been established in 1848. It has always been the meeting point for friends of enjoyment and entertainment. Quite a few call it to the secret canteen of crew members of Deutsches Schauspielhaus theatre. We love regional dishes and think that German kitchen has been completely unjustified disdained for long. Our Motto: The most delicious dishes from Germany and Austria. Here they do exist, the classics and the forgotten: Mummy’s Roulades, Shnitzel of Veal, homemade swabian noodles and so on...We hope you enjoy your time with us.
