This is a popular restaurant so it is best to book ahead. It does not accept card payments. There are only a few choices each course. The food is carefully prepared well season and nicely presented. I would visit again.

My husband booked us a table there for valentine's day. The place has a lively atmosphere and the food was pretty good, they also had a vegetarian dish for me, that's always a plus. But the place was way too loud and the tables are...More

A very nice surprise downtown Hamburg. High quality of the ingredients (a mozzarella that tastes like mozzarella is not normal in northern Germany, believe me), surprising combinations, adequate wine, friendly service, pleasant location. The tables are a bit too small but this is the only...More

The staff was helpful friendly and cheerful, very uplifting. Without a reservation they accommodated my wife and I and never rushed us.

I first went for coffee and cake and mentioned that I might come back for dinner. They actually remember me and had even reserved a single table for me, how nice is that! But not only that the atmosphere is fantastic and staff could be...More

Delicious warm ambient and excellent food. Dishes are tasteful and innovative and wine is excellent (I could find Valpolicella and Amarone!!!). I will come again as soon as possible.

We always go to the Deichtor Halle when visiting H'burg, but never at lunch or dinner time. What a mistake. Great lunch, accommodating staff, huge serving, delicious salads and yet quite cheap. The evening menu looked very interesting. Need to go back asap.

Appetizer was roast beef, didn't smell fresh. I had to order icecubes three times before they finally served some and it was difficult to get attention. The starter was uninspired - salty duck cold cut with salad and dry cranberries, the best dish but far...More

Thank you for your honest evaluation. Unfortunately we didn't hear anything about your dissatisfaction during your visit in our restaurant. When you complain about what we offer, we would have had the chance to renew the dish. We are also wondering about the dishes you...More

Description
The combination of arts and cooking is full of promises - We at the House of Photograpgy are conscious of this. So we decided, when we reopened the museum in 2005, to marry the works of important photographers with a creative, innovative but non-trendy offer of treats for the gourmet.
