This used to be my favorite place for a martini when I lived in Berlin - wanted to take a friend there recently, but the sign on the door indicated it IS still running, but only for special events

This bar looks beautiful and is well designed aesthetically, although quite narrow which would make it congested should it get busy. The service was quite clinical, and the drinks reasonable but pricey.

A stylish space with a nice design and well-prepared cocktails. The bar is a nice destination in summer with outdoor seating on a fairly quiet central Berlin square. They definitely know their drinks here.

We visited as a large party (50 people) and had pre-booked and reserved an area for the evening. An hour after arriving only a handful of us had drinks. The bar service was nothing short of diabolical. The bar knew we were coming and had accepted the booking, however clearly had not thought of having enough staff for the evening.... More

I hadn't planned to visit this bar but just stumbled across it as it was near our hotel. The bar is just one long room but very modern and very darkly lit. It was quiet but it was a Sunday. The cocktails were good and reasonably priced. I wouldn't have gone out of my way to get there but if... More

We went to this bar as it was on route from our hotel, the Grange Hotel Esplenade. The bar goes on for ages, just one long room. The bar was quiet which we found odd as it was Friday night. The prices were good thoug. The bar tenders were all friendly.

Last night in the city. Boss wanted to relax somewhere different. I had noticed this place on several occasions heading to meetings so suggested we try. It's a long cavernous room - almost as though a driveway between two buildings had been enclosed and turned into a bar. Dimly lit, excellent music selection playing. Hospitable crowd. Very welcoming bartenders and... More

Great bar, also listed on World's Best Bars. I had one of the best cocktails I ever ordered (a great Wodka Sour with Grey Goose, orange zest and ginger), the bar design is unique (look at the light design!) and the barkeepers were easy to talk to and hard not to like. A little out of the way, but easily... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
