Me and my girlfriend came to Berlin for a get away experience and nothing hit the spot like burgermiester!! It is a must for all tourists to visit! It is situated in one of the many hearts of Berlin where lots of bars and restaurants are situated. MUST GO!!!

This place really gets what makes a good burger. I have tried all the others but they just dont cut it. Be prepared to queue or alternatively visit their premises in Kottbusser Tor where they have indoor seating and is usually less busy.

Nice local and real 'Berliner' feel food joint. Amazing burgers and fries choices with good beers. The joint used to be an old metro-toilet and has so much appearance. Really, find it if you are in Berlin. Guten Hunger!

Brilliant burger joint. Reasonably priced, great food quality. Only cons to this place is there are no toilets and only a couple of tables but I would definitely return for another burger!

I visited these former Public Toilets turned into a Berlin Legendary Burger Shack, busy for a Wednesday afternoon, had the Hausmeista - nice burger, good bun stayed whole until last bite, good beef and seared well. My friend had the Meister Aller Klassen, he polished it off quick, which says it all. Great Burgers, good beer too. Very reasonable prices.... More

After reading about this place online, I decided to go for lunch one day. I visited the location at Schlesisches Tor. It's located in a former men's toilet under the bridge. There was a huge line to order. Also there isn't a large seating area, but there are parks nearby with benches where you can sit down. You can find... More

You must visit. The best burger I have ever eaten. And the chips are tasty too. A bit of a random venue but very cool.

Fantastic spot for burgers, especially late at night. Located in a super cool part of the city. Reasonable prices for great food. Burger lovers will really like this place. Make sure to try the chili-cheese fries, though you may need to share with someone else. If it's just you, then stuff your face--why not? You only live once...

Lets be honest, the burgers are served in what used to be a public toilet so it does't really matter that they're not the greatest burgers around. I'm glad I went and I would recommend visiting. The food is absolutely fine, it's just nothing special. That being said it's a really reasonably priced meal, and the place has a great... More

Honestly, I go to Burgermeister at least once a week. I have had a few burgers in Berlin and although they have been OK, they are often cooked from frozen (which seems to be pretty widespread in Berlin), use stale/awful burger buns and wacky, over the top combinations of sauces, toppings and cheeses. If they are none of the above,... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
