We walked around in the area trying to find a decent restaurant. And found Oktogon which looked ok. The food was good but nothing special. And the portions quite small.

Salad was good but had nothing to do with Ceasar salad. Efficient serving and no waiting time. Quit with not many people

We were a group of 15-16 for dinner, pre-booked, with set menu. Only one other table occupied during the evening. No atmosphere. Service disengaged, went through the motions. Food average and by far not up to what they charged for it. Everybody eager to leave. Not a place I'd give a second try.

Leipziger Platz/Potsdamer Platz has surprisingly few restaurants for the number of hotels and tourists in the area. The Oktogon restaurant is a good find. I went there with my wife and a friend. Unfortunately, the restaurant also had a party of 18 that had pre-booked a set dinner, and the party arrived just as we did. I hoped by ordering... More

Had a small dinner with Fusion restaurant. Food was ok and had bit strange mixture - even with fusion attached. I've eaten in number of fusion-kind restaurants in Nordics and would say that this falls quite far from places like Farang (Stockholm, Helsinki), Gaijin (Helsinki) or Miss Voon (Stockholm).

Delicious food, excellent service and very good value for money. The 'extras' from the kitchen, champagne and lobster soup, were an very nice starter to the meal. Would certainly recommend to others.

Rather surprised by a couple of the previous reviews. As a family of 4, we had a great evening here and very much enjoyed the fusion food. The service was great, and the wine advice very good. We all enjoyed the dim sum starter, and all the mains were well received. The deserts were possibly the weakest element, but still... More

I planned a trip to Berlin to celebrate the New Year and part of the plan was to propose to my girlfriend. I searched for a proper restaurant where I could propose and celebrate the occasion. After a long search and consultation with friends who live in Berlin I found this restaurant - Oktogon Fusion Restaurant. I made the reservation... More

In music the word fusion is used to describe a combination of two different styles. The Oktogon calls itself a Fusion Restaurant and by this it means a combination of flavours and culinary techniques from western and eastern cuisine. This focus on fusion food can be seen from a quick look at the menu which includes Dim-Sum with Maultasche (Swabian ravioli) filled with spinach and cheese or roasted veal cutlet on a bed of sautéed wild mushrooms and sweet potato strudel. Plus there is an impressive selection of wines from every continent apart from Asia. All this can be enjoyed in a luxurious setting with stunning views of the centre of Berlin. A reasonably priced lunch menu is available from 11.30am - 4pm and the restaurant can cater for parties of 6 to 60 people. Conference facilities are available.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
