Found this when looking for somewhere different to go for evening meal and it sounded interesting. On arrival there was slight confusion as the older staff didn't speak english and my german isn't that great but soon sorted when a younger waiter was appointed. The restaurant upstairs is very pleasant and it is here that you eat your first course,... More

I went there 2 times with a group of 14, so I brought them 28 people. Both times they charged the drinks of the neighbour table on our bill, they promised to pay it back on the credit card but they never did. I heard they do this often to put extra drinks on the bill, so check your bill.... More

This is really something everyone should do at least once in their life. It was so crazy eating in pitch blackness- it really does make your tastebuds have to work harder to figure out what you are eating without sight! The food was fairly good, my only complaint with the vegetarian dish was that there was not enough differences in... More

You have to experience this to believe it. You are taken through a " dark lock" in to an absolutely pitch black space and you can see nothing. Believe me you never get accustomed to the dark as it is as black as a coal mine!! Blind and partially blind servers resort you to you table in a conga style... More

The entire experience is based upon daily life of blind people. Absolutely amazing experience to try once in a life. You are bring by blind waiters in the "restaurant room". Absolutely pitch dark. You don't have any sort of light to see what you are eating or drinking. Food is very good and that dinner was based upon flowers in... More

A good experience. But way too expensive for the food, and over 1 hour between starter and main course.

Dinning in the dark was a unique experience. When you get to the restaurant, you are welcomed in the lounge where they explain everything to you and you can choose your menu. Then you're escorted to a dark room, in which you really can't see a thing. The amazing waiters guide you to your table and show you where everything... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
