Best atmosphere I saw in Berlin. It is a place that locals go to eat and meet frients and perfectly welcoming to visitors. Food lovely and wine list superb for the price (which was very reasonable

The place looked interesting and friendly, but the service was really poor. Took 30 minutes to get lunch after ordering, and when the food finally arrived it was not that great.

We have visited this bar a few times. It always has a very cool atmosphere regardless of the time of day or night. It doesn't matter who you are, what you wear, or how old or young you are.... But don't tell the tourists!

Failed to get in here on Saturday night so returned on Sunday. Tremendous food. Huge portions as ever in Berlin. A starter of mixed salad for one was ample for two, as the waitress advised, as was cheese for one. Perfect veal schnitzel and good German wine. Exceptionally good value. Don`t miss it.

This was recommended by a tour guide, and although it was off the beaten path it was worth it. A Courteous staff, helpful to those of us who didn't speak German. And the food and beer was excellent.

Traditional german restaurant. Schnitzel, soup, pasta etc. Friendly staff. Very simple in a way but very good food.

Great Berlin Relaxing Atmosphere, Honest German Food with Quality. Placed in Mitte this is always a classic to eat proper in the center of the city. Best plate : German Meatballs Reccomend!

We stumbled across this little restaurant in Mitte, while we were walking in the evening to find somewhere for dinner. The restaurant is cosy and charming, the food delicious (menu is quite small) and the waitstaff lovely. Highly recommended but it might be wise to book.

Thank Clare S

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
