I absolutely loved this place. Loved it. I loved it so much that I visited it twice on a four day trip to Berlin, even though I had to travel both times to get there. It's greasy vegan fast food at it's finest. In my 20 years of vegetarianism and veganism I've never had anything that came close to the... More

As a vegetarian couple in Berlin we wanted to try a curry wurst and after some looking around we found that the yellow sunshine would be an option, I have been in this place 10 years a go, so we decided to try. The place it's a little out of downtown and main city attractions but still easy to reach... More

My girlfriend is a vegetarian and so we decided to try Yellow Sunshine burger while in Berlin. It was good food - certainly the best vegan food I have ever eaten. Worth a try for sure. Nice to have a guilt free bacon cheese burger!

A nice fast-food restaurant with a huge menu of veggie/vegan dishes & welcoming helpful staff. We tried the halloumi burger & vegan bacon cheeseburger (both served with fries), as well as the seitan nuggets & really enjoyed our food. The portions are really generous, so it ends up good value for money. Worth the trip from Alexanderplatz & wish I... More

Berlin as a whole impressed me with it's vegetarian food, but this place is a must try. So many options available. We had Hawaiian burgers with fries. Fantastic flavours, great burger. Lots of seating. Highly recommend!

I eat meat. But in our group of friends, one of us is a vegetarian and usually he is the one who has to find something to eat wherever the rest of us want to go, which sometimes means really crap veggie food for him... so this time we decided to let him chose and we would all go to... More

My boyfriend booked a surprise birthday visit to Berlin and found Yellow Sunshine Burger! Say it with me... YELLOW SUNSHINE BURGER. BEST RESTAURANT/CAFE IN BERLIN. The Currywurst was bursting with flavour, with an excellent price and a great set of staff who talked to us in both German and English. We stayed for around one hour and a saw a... More

Would definitely recommend this place, a large selection of vegan food available, all very fresh. Best vegan currywurst!

Tried the currywurst with chips. Was nice to be able to try a speciality as a vegan, and the food was pretty good, with a large choice. Sadly no milkshakes/cakes were left on our visit, but to be honest it was getting pretty late. Enjoyed the visit and would recommend it!

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
