Popped here in spring for spargle zeit and I wasn't disappointed. They had perfectly prepared the German specialty and it was a lovely meal. The rest of the menu looked fab too, if a little pricier than other spots nearby, but it's a different type...More

I enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at this friendly restaurant with excellent beer and table service and tables outside in the sun The price of my large pork chop with Bavarian cabbage and salad was very reasonable and was delicious.

Really tasty meals, decent portions, good value and friendly service! My husband had the seasonal mushrooms with dumplings, and I had the Berliner Teller. We hadn’t even reserved a table on a busy Sunday but they still found us a nice place to sit.

Lovely little restaurant with a tasty menu. Portions were manageable which was great. The service was quick and really friendly. There are lovely seats on the terrace and we were not hurried to leave. A great find!

The first surprise clearly marked on the menu was no credit cards. There were 2 ATMs in sight so no real issue. Food was simple and good. Price was right. Very limited selection of good value wines. Servers wanted to be somewhere else.

I had eaten there before some years ago and went there with good memories. And I remembered right; they have really tasty food with good-sized portions. I really enjoy the simplicity of traditional german food. My friend also liked really much their food. Service was...More

Firstly, marked down the service due to the negative response to our failed attempt to pre book a table and the "uninterested" staff member on the call. (Maybe because we did not speak German, but hey, they have a lot of tourists) Anyhow, undeterred we...More

When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of
the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party

palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter
are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may
find a bar with international crowds, electronic
music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other,
an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit

Dear visitors and guests, In the restaurant Speisehaus we serve German cuisine. By that we mean first and foremost the everyday culinary art with which we grew up in and around Berlin. With all the variety of international gastronomy that has made us happy in Friedrichshain for decades, we sometimes longed for dishes that are actually so characteristic for Berlin.
