Happy hour cocktails and a breakfast that'll take you an hour to work your way through. American guy working there was super friendly (as was everyone else)

Nice cafe with many tables in the street. You can stay there for hours reading a newspaper and watching the people going by. You may remember that this cafe appears in the 5th Season of the TV Series Homeland.

A cocktail bar with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and best coctail barmen. Make sure to visit during happy hours for a great bargain on cocktails! The bar will likely play Pariv Stellar, and newswing vibes.

This was a bar we visited last year were we had a great time so on our latest holiday to Berlin we thought we would drop into here again as we were visiting the wonderful Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin. Our local last in November and December last year, when we had just moved to Schwedterstr. Fantastic location with huge windows to watch the world go by at corner of Kastanienalle and Oderbergerstr. Excellent service and great music. We were mainly there in the evening for a beer or glass of wine, but occasionally for breakfasts which were stupendously good... More

It's really worth going here just to enjoy the experience of how utterly utterly awful this place is. The night we were there they had only nachos despite the menu showing sandwiches and antipasti. The staff were very friendly but were obviously hobbled by grossly incompetent management. The cafe was also really noisy inside and several of us left hoarse!... More

We ended up stepping in here out of the rain and should have trusted that the dingy, dark surroundings with sad, limp old cakes was unlikely to deliver anything great. We ordered the French breakfast, basically two croissants and fruit with hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was Euro 3 so expectations were high, it is just a cheap powder with... More

We stop the this place to have a lunch but it as not possible so we ordered a breakfast. We waited more than 45 minutes for the breakfast (slice of cheese and Salami) we had to ask several time to be served. It was supposed to be a quick lunch before a bike tour and it became a long breakfast.... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
