Really good mexican food. Really small tables and place to sit. Would not recommand it if you're a tall person who needs leggroom. Margarita's are delicious!

It's a cute colorful small place with a good choice of mexican food. The price is ok, good for the price (a bit above 10€ without drinks for the main dish and the upsize option- rice, black beans and tortilla chips). Great mexican fresh taste. The tacos are a bit small, but great taste. The staff is also excellent.

Food was great and place is also very nice, has nice interior. Waiter was really helpful as well. But definite highlight is beef quesadilla, it was absolutely perfect!

Went here one evening for dinner as we fancied Mexican food. The restaurant was smaller than anticipated but as we didn't book, a 20 min wait didn't seem too bad. We were sat quite quickly and service was great. I had great choice as a veggie (had quesadilla with quorn chorizo) and the cocktails were delicious. Quite reasonably priced too.... More

Had a great meal here. Only issue was very busy and only one waitress so had to get own drinks. Would recommend if in the area, the best Mexican food I have ever had!

I visited here in December 2016 with 4 friends upon recommendation from another friend who had previously visited. We had to wait over an hour for a table as it is quite a small restaurant and very popular, however, there is a cool bar across the road (unsure of name) where we went for cocktails so the wait was no... and overpriced. In a city like Berlin with great food at every corner, Santa Maria's reputation is definitely not deserved.

Came here on recommendation from a friend and were not disappointed. On Tuesday they have a taco tequila menu for €1...the tacos are traditional (small) soft shell tacos (vego options available) and 5/6 will satisfy a hungry stomach. They also have margarita specials from 7pm-9pm for €4 which are amazing. Make sure to come a bit earlier for a table... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
