One of the nicest food stop in Berlin. Placed in Savigny Platz, an urban Oasis, full of lively cafes, galleries and a great bookstore. Informal, friendly, easy-going, yet with the grandeure of old Berlin. Excellent local dishes, beers, desserts. A true Berlin experience.

We came here for dinner and it was quite crowded so I would recommend getting a reservation. The staff spoke fine English and was very friendly. The menus had both German and English so there was no problem ordering and allergy information was clearly posted...More

We visited the place on a Saturday night without reservation and despite the place was almost full, the staff was very nice and found a spot for us at short notice. Service was great and quick. Portions are VERY generous, if you order the Schnitzel...More

Came for lunch, a bit late. Service isn't uber-professional, or maybe they were overworked due to the sheer number of customers. The food itself is rather good: i took a Schnitzel of enormous proportions with potatoes and sliced cucumbers that was really really well made....More

Another concierge-recommended restaurant, well worth the walk. This is a great local restaurant. A bit small, but very quaint, and very busy. We arrived without reservations, and the host suggested the two of us could share a table for 6 with another group, which worked...More

I have travelled across the world and have to say that this is the most unfriendliest establishment I have ever visited. The staff are arrogant, rude and dismissive of people if there are better pickings (i.e. a larger group standing outside) After having made a...More

We had lunch outside, simple no frills food that's tasty and traditionally prepared. Might not be for you if you don`t like carbs or fat or meat or no nonsense service. I had white asparagus with potatoes and brown butter and was very close to...More

When we go away we always like to try the local cuisine. I looked for German restaurants on Tripadvisor and Dicke Wirtin was the closest and had wonderful reviews so we followed Google maps down a road that was pretty much residential, not much about...More

This was top of my list. So disappointed a very unpleasant experience. Decor dark and dingy and a parody of a bavarian cabin in modern berlin. Ditto with ..food heavy boring and stuck in the past. The worst thing was the way we were treated....More

The service was excellent. Very friendly staff and the meals so large as is custom in germany. So glad we found this place, it was very traditional German and exactly what we were looking for as travellers to Berlin.

Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through
the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which
lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood.
Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city:
upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades
and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone
streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through
little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop
