Had a dinner on my own at Simela during our Berlin trip. Very fresh food, quick and friendly service and a sense that no one would rush you out the door. I had half margarita half vegetarian pizza and added the offered chili oil. Excellent meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a casual meal alone or with friends.

Fantastic little place with gluten free pizza and pasta and desserts! Such a lucky find. Half the menu is gluten free and Coeliac friendly :)

Simela is a very small Italian restaurant with gluten free pizzas. With only four little tables and a few bar stools, it gets easily overcrowded. A reservation is warranted. Staff is very friendly, but when is gets really busy they seem to have some difficulty to cope with all the orders. The pizzas and pastas are delicious so if you... More

My boyfriend and I went there yesterday and were very hungry. We waited too long for someone to come but the food was actually really good.

Small place. Sometimes long wait. Best to get a drink and wait if you go without reservation. Fresh local and delicious. Moderately priced. Goods portions.

Really can't fault the food or drink in the Simela restaurant. I was looking for a gluten free place that did non gluten free options for my boyfriend and I have to say the GF pizza I had was probably the best I have ever tasted! Super thin crust and lots of options. They also had gluten free dessert (which... More

On a snowy Saturday night we visited this place mainly due to the vast gluten free options and it did not disappoint. Johnny was amazing and very accommodating to our needs and dietary requirements! The food was delicious!! With massive portions! Great value for money and lovely cost place! Thanks for having us!

Due to my mother-in-law suffering from coaelics, we visited Simela whilst in Berlin. When the five of us arrived, we were slightly concerned that we wouldn't be able to get in, since the restaurant probably seats about 20 at a push. However, within five minutes two tables had left, meaning we could push two together. My sister-in-law, my wife and... More

We had dinner here twice during our 5 night stay in Berlin. One night we each had gluten-free pizza and were really impressed by the pizza crust and that it wasn't too crumbly or soggy. I think the crust was made from some sort of buckwheat flour or something similar since it definitely held well. As for the second night,... More

A relief to find something gluten free! Pizza board came wrapped in tin foil which was reassuring for cross-contamination reasons.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
