The restaurant is just adjacent to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin inside the historical Adlon Hotel. Some tables have excellent view of this landmark of Germany. We tried the business set lunch which included three courses of dishes (or two course at lower price if you like). The dishes were delicious and lovingly prepared. The prices for lunch were reasonable... More

During our stay at the Adlon Hotel Kempinski in Berlin in April 2016 - please see review - , we booked a table for our dinner in advance at Quarre which is the casual, yet upscale brasserie at this famous landmark hotel. Quarre is in a corner location. One side offers views over the Brandenburg Gate. It also has outdoor... More

I had dinner here for my last night in Berlin. Nice spot. The food was pricey, which would be fine except it wasn't as good as I've had elsewhere in Berlin for cheaper. I was charged 13 euros for a bottle of room temperature still water which struck me as ridiculous. Unless I wake up with some magical powers that... More

A unique place for a nice lunch or just a glass of wine on the terrasse. As I am in Berlin always in summer this is a must. My lunch was very classic but good. Service is good especially my waitress, I forgot her name but she mentioned she is cuban-german or so. Well done, I love this place!

I ate at Quarre with one colleague during a business trip, and we were both very pleased. The food is very good, but the best thing is the view. You can't eat closer to the Brandenburger than that. The waiter was very nice as well. Overall, a very nice experience.

First the location is spectacular. Overlooking Bradenburg Gate. In the hotel of the famous Michael Jackson dangling his kid over the railing incident. The restaurant is very formal looking but service is surprisingly unpretentious. We had the business set lunch at it was very reasonably priced for a 3 course meal. The meal came out quite quickly and we were... More

I suppose it's a little unfair to rate this restaurant as we did not have a meal there. We did however have a drink there and the experience with outside seating was very pleasant and the wait staff very attentive. The atmosphere, however, I don't think warrants the prices charged for meals

Dinner at Quarré followed by a cigar on the verandah and then a stroll around the Brandenburg as the sun sets (summer time) is an unforgettable experience. The place is at the Adlon so it is as good as it gets. The lavatories downstairs are magnificent. You could stay there for hours reading the book you'r bought at The Topography... More

This is a nice place. It's a very nice view to the Brandenburger Tor. The atmosphere is nice, but there it ends. The service is snobbish and very slow, and the prices are too high for a restaurant like this. It simply doesn't suit it. Then to the food. My wife had a beef, very red even we kindly asked... More

The Quarré takes its name from what was once a market place, and which we now know as the Pariser Platz. The restaurant, which is in the Hotel Adlon Kempinski, has the feel of a Parisian brasserie. On offer is a selection of delicious dishes that are characteristically French, and these combine with a range of popular classics to offer a unique culinary identity. Come to the Quarré for lunch, a business meal or dinner, and enjoy sumptuous lobster bisque, traditional tarts, a refreshing salad Niçoise as well as some delicious mussel and oyster dishes. In the summer, sit outside on the wonderful terrace and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Brandenburg Gate.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
