This restaurant was recommended by the receptionist at our hotel. Great food, good wine, nice friendly staff. The menus were only in German though and the staff spoke poor english, but the food was great.

Even though it's a rare occurrence, it may happen that you are unhappy with the quality. Then the chances are that the kitchen will do their best to please you. The service at table is another story - sometimes you're treated regally, sometimes you're ignored! Which means for me that I have to think very carefully about my dinner companions... More

Located centrally in Charlottenburg, you can practically see the restaurant as you step out from the Sophie Charlotte Platz U2 U bahn station. Before or after your meal you can take a look at the many nice antique shops on both sides of Suraresstrasse. The restaurant is not big and if often full, so you should book ahead to guarantee... Preparation of dishes is solid, friendliness and competence of waiters vary a lot. If one lives around the corner, one could make it a place to go from time to time. Not worth to travel longer distances.

A small and cozy restaurant, with a family management and warm atmosphere. Wide variety of choices, many of them real Italian and real high quality! If you stop by in Berlin, or live her and miss Italy and Italian food, this is the place for you!

This is a great Italian restaurant in Berlin. We visited in August 2015 and on both occasions it was excellent. The staff are very friendly and very helpful in translating the menu. The food is Italian style with a Germanic twist. Both nights we tried the daily specials and selections from the a la carte menu - everything was of... More

A friend who lives nearby suggested meeting here. Very Italian with blue checked cloth tablecloths. Service very competent -- servers were alert to our signs we wanted something; when we ordered 2 desserts for the 3 of us, one brought 3 sets of cutlery without asking. We all ordered from the specials list; two of us had the Eggplant Parmigiana... More

one would expect northern Italian fare, given the namesake of this enchanting restaurant, however, various specialties from Sicily to the alps (incl. Sardinia) can be found here. Friendly and competent service and well priced

Stella Alpina was just a few blocks from our apartment, so we headed over one evening ... without a reservation. The room is quite small and cozy and was full of people clearly enjoying themselves. We sat on the patio for a bit. Pleasant enough, but we never could quite seem to get someone to actually let us order any... More

Nice and cozy restaurant. Excellent food. Carbonarra was really good and pizza even better. Staff a bit Italian but very friendly. :-D

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
