It has been said in the other reviews. The cooking is good traditional German with dishes from various parts of the country, the spaetzle, (from the south) were excellent. The portions are large, if we had had a sweet they would have had to carry us back to the hotel. Recommended. The service is good too which gets it four... More

We went there to try out the German cuisine as a family. The menu was rather touristically designed. We started off with burgundy snails, for example. Then we had German Hackse and porc chops. That was al fine and hospitable, then the English waiter suggested to have the strawberries drauned in Cointreau for the children so they would fall asleep... More

The food was superb, and they even have some small portions. With the reasonable prices, the linen, crystal, and ambience were a real plus. It's a don't miss.

We visited this restaurant for my birthday on Valentines day. The choice was perfect!!. We were greeted in a very pleasant and welcoming fashion and shown to a well positioned table. The ambience was perfect. The staff assisted in our choice of food and took the time to explain the different food on offer. The service was impeccable. The meal... More

Entry is through the wood paneled bar full of patrons enjoying local beer, wine and cocktails. The next room is the wood paneled dining room, much quieter than the lively bar. White table cloths await. There's an extensive menu with all the traditional foods you can think of: schnitzels and sauerbraten, and dumplings, and of course lots of veggies, which... More

The restaurant had a good atmosphere and helpful staff with a very traditional menu. Food was well cooked but the portions of schnitzel, pork knuckle and goose were just overwhelming. Suggest not having a starter

The restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel concierge. One word, fantastic. Excellent food (the goose special was fab) great German (yes German) Sauvignon Blanc (3 bottles) and all delivered by a smiling helpful waiter who was attentive and steered us to some great German choices. Would definitely eat here again.

I had been searching for another German restaurant in the same area. The hotel concierge attempted to make reservations for us and we were told they were booked for the night. The concierge at Hotel Sofitel informed us of this restaurant and stated they normally recommend this place over the one that I had previously selected based on TripAdvisor reviews.... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
