But the pizza was excellent and it was very good value for money. We were going to go to Piraat pizza fdown the road, but like many Berlin restaurants it was a smoking restaurant, and was pretty fuggy. No one was smoking at Via Veneto, so we went there instead.

I ate here twice as it was across the road from my hotel and in the rain was an easy place to go. First time service was friendly and the food, though nothing special, was ok and very large portions very reasonably priced. Second time the food was more mediocre and the service which was initially friendly all but disappeared... More

Big salads for starter, almost main course. Normal pasta, but nothing exceptional. Excellent panna cotta. Waiter speaking German, Italian and French and very kind. Total price less than 40.- EUR for 2. Nice place...

Having a gluten allergy is bad enough, but when dragged in by colleagues I found I couldn't even have the salad or ice cream. Had to eat at McDonalds while they ate there - food looked ok and large portion sizes but apparently wasn't great anyway.

We ate twice at this restaurant. On both occasions service was swift with welcoming waiters. The Pasta was flavousome, as was the generously sized Pizzas with generous toppings. Convivial atmosphere from 19:00 hrs onwards (quite before that time but still enjoyable. Drinks are of an average price fdor the area,

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
