Visiting Berlin for the first time, it's absolutely crucial to have yourself a nice Schnitzel - wether it is the traditional Wiener Schnitzel or other kind. Before arriving in Berlin we decided to do a little research on were I could find the best Schnitzel in town. Schnitzelei was in the top of the list on many sites, including Tripadvisor.... More

This place was recommended to me and I and my family were not disappointed. Its nearly all based on differing variations of schnitzel but the portions were generous and tasty, even the accompanying salads were a treat. Would definitely go again.

Yes, there are german tapas. Small portions of classic german good, made in a different way than the usual. And they are tasty! Also, the Schnitzel (that gigantic cut of veal breadcrumbed and fried to perfection) is impressive! Tasty, crusty on the outside, soft on the inside. Check the dates for special prices on Schnitzel. Sundays they are cheaper at... More

I was lucky enough to be sent to Berlin for business and this was the first place that I ate at. I had done my research for weeks before and this place was highly rated so immediately after checking in at my hotel, I embarked on the 40 minute walk to their Mitte location. I was not disappointed! Despite the... More

A great find, fab service, tapas looked great but we only had room for schnitzel. These were large and lovely. Nice extra touches. Cucumber salad was lush! Go!

The place was packed when we went there for dinner. It seemed to me that most guests were locals from the neighborhood. Food was OK, and plenty enough. The interior was nice.

We googled local german food restaurants that were near to our Hotel (Novum Style) and this came up. We simply had to visit a place that offered traditional German cuisine. We walked into a residential area and assumed that we were in for a treat, with it being out the way, and we were! The menu outside is all in... More

This was the first meal we had on our trip to Germany and the one that all following meals were measured by! The menu consists of German tapas/small plates, as well as extremely generously-sized entrees. Three tapas and two schnitzels (one of which was a vegan fried mushroom dish with cucumbers and potatoes, a gem for a non-meat-eating German food... More

If you want an authentic schnitzel experience, you will find it here at Schitzelei. I take family members, clients and friends alike here and I am never disappointed. The Schnitzel is impressive, tasty and delicious. The service is friendly and efficient. It is even a great place when the weather is warm. You can sit outside in the beer garden... More

Description
The place to go for a good Schnitzel. The name of the restaurant says it all. There is a really good choice of Schnitzel. The restaurant also caters for vegetarians with a parmesan risotto Schnitzel. The good traditional Austrian fare goes down well with the general public. Start off your meal with a selection of starters offering all kinds of delicacies. The staff are great. So too are the rectangular lamps on the walls which are even used as candleholders. The wine selection is very good.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
