Excellent and cosy wine bar. For the dining there are better options close by. Have a glass of wine, and go to Borchardt for your meal.

On his previous trip to Berlin my husband had dinner at this testaurant for the two nights he was staying in the city,so much he liked it.Now we went together and knowing how much he likes to try new places,I was very surprised that he insisted we had dinner there. The interior made me wonder how my husband could come for... A classic Berlin restaurant with rich menu. The decoration is classic and it demonstrates the history of this great restaurant. I ordered the fish and salad and also we ordered a nice vegetarian dish: the vegetables with Basmati rice. The location is great.. Overall I recommend this restaurant for dinner. Not to be missed in Berlin,,,

Having read the reviews and only having one dinner in Berlin, I went for L&W. The space is very traditional and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. As I always prefer to go local to maximize the experience, I chose a German merlot, but our sommelier soon came back to apologize that they were out of stock but would bring... More

Simply a tourist trap. I have eaten in many restaurants all over the world and this one is one of the worst. The food was absolute crap and far too expensive for what it is. The location is fantastic. The rest really bad.

Nice Berlin fare, from Himmel und Erde to Siedlfeisch - great atmosphere, Berlinese waiters (with all the good and the bad), and a great place to have your Stammtisch! We'll be back!!!

Thank Jessica M

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
