Nice restaurant. Quaint. Reasonble food and good value. It is a little annoying that they don't take cards or any type of e-payment in this day and age. Restaurante agradable. Con cierto encanto. Comida razonable y a buen precio. Es un poco molesto que no se pueda pagar con tarjeta ni nigún método electrónico. My problem though had to do... More

Old school-y place on Bergmanstrasse with great shnitzel. Other people got salad, roast chicken, sausages, but I got the grosse plate of shnitzel--it was huge and it was awesome. Everything else about the place was just fine. Go here for old school german stuff and shnitzel.

The schnitzel was pretty dry but the potatoes that came with it were the best sides I've ever had with schnitzels!! It comes with a cucumber salad too, which was not too bad. There are 2 sides to the restaurant, 1 is much smaller and darker, the other side is much better. If you could order just the potatoes that... More

The schnitzels are made after you ordered them, you can see the cook preparing it. In April, order also asparagus.

I came here for lunch and was really impressed by the schnitzels. Its a really big portion and is served with boiled potatoes and cucumber salad. But I have a big criticism on their service. Our server seemed to be not interested and we had to go constantly to the kitchen to ask for stuff.

I came for the schnitzel: The restaurant serves a huge, thin circular schnitzel at the size of half or 3/4 plate. With the big portion you get two of that huge slice, plus Erdaepfel (potato with mustard and herbs) that fills half the plate. Oh, plus a bowl of Gurkesalat (cucumber salad). I ordered the normal (big) portion of pork... More

We arrived here after reading a guide book review, very hungry and tired. We hadn't booked and were given the last free table in the restaurant. The schnitzel took a while to arrive (but the red wine made the wait easy). It was a delicious meal - excellent schnitzel and the best potato salad I have ever eaten. Would definitely... More

A great restaurant with excellent service and yummy food. The pork schnitzel and sausages are amazing. The serving size is large so make sure you're hungry! They even gave us some complimentary schnapps to finish an awesome meal. Highly recommend!

At the end of a lively street in Kreuzberg, this is a popular place. It was a warm evening and we had booked, but were not able to eat outside, which would have been much nicer. The food is quite traditional and a bit heavy but the dishes of the day which were based on chanterelle / girolles mushrooms were... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
