I had a vegetarian dish, fried aubergine with ginger and garlic, served with rice. This is by far the best Chinese dish i have ever had. Also kind personell and a quite atmosphere which made this visit very pleasant. Enjoy!

We had Thanks Giving dinner here. The restaurant was crowded but the diner was not aware of the chaos. Our food was delivered quickly and efficiently. The food was prepared beautifully. It was hot and delicious. The service was excellent. They were through and courteous. They went out of their way to make sure our dinner was perfect. I recommend... More

I came to the Peking Ente by invitation of a Chinese friend. Always a good sign. And I did not bother to look at the card but let her and the restaurant owner discuss the menu (needless to say, that I did not understand a word). Hence, all was a surprise and a very very good one. The "Quallensalat" (jelly... More

The best part of the restaurant is the stunning photograph of a Communist Party plenum with Mao at its center. Otherwise, this is one of the worst restaurants I have come across in Berlin in my two plus years of living here. I hat can one say about a Chinese restaurant that manages to get white rice wrong, producing a... More

Found this place walking around Berlin on vacation. Service was good and friendly but a little slow. The food was really good. Surprisingly good. Much better than I expected. Was it the best ever? No, but damn good for a place I just wandered into. Price was okay.

Came he by accident. Restaurant is said to be the meeting place of Communists in the 1980s. Not a nice and welcoming interior but - whomever visited China - it looks like a Chinese restaurant. Had a Peking duck for 1. More than enough. Taste was very good. Staff is friendly.

Came here by accident, the place was just on my way, when I have been walking with my wife. After we have landed here I read a reviews and was a bit scary. But now it's clear that place is good. Food is tasty, prices affordable, tea was good. Choice of food is rich enough. OK place, I recommend it.

During the IFA Berlin event, during a city scout, i decided to eat here as i saw the resto from the 200 busline passing in front. Several pictures and a story about Barbara, streisand i presume convinced me to get on the terras outside and order. I ordered a simple baked noudels with duck. The taste was ok dough kinda... More

We stopped here for dinner and ordered: steamed dumplings, lamb stew and crispy deep fried duck. The lamb and duck were marked as "recommended dish" in the menu but were quite disappointing. Both of them were too salty that when we had one spoon of meat, we needed 4 spoons of rice to balance the taste. The duck was also... More

I haven't written reviews for quite a while. I really want to share this wonderful experience with all friends coming from China. The taste is so good and in genuine Chinese way of cooking. I will recommend friends to cure their homesick of Chinese food. The price is reasonable and even cheaper than Shanghai. I will come again tomorrow.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
