We couldn't recommend this restaurant more highly. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were encouraging about our fledgling German and gave us lots of time to translate the menu with our dictionary! The food was fantastic.. tasty fresh produce, cooked beautifully and presented with care. At the end of the evening the chef came out to personally ensure... More

We came for my Mom's birthday which is on Valentine's. No surprise all tables were booked. We were under the impression that Riehmers was a little understaffed that day, everything took a little longer but not too long if you are granted with a little patience - unfortunately excellent restaurants as a rule tend to attract other people with money... That's a nice and laid-back place for a nice dinner with friends. Choices of german food and some game well prepared. Service is friendly and helpful.

The restaurant is nice, upscale and has a garden on side private street. The ambiance is nice, not elaborate. It is a good place for romantic or business dinner. The dishes were delicious and creative. The service was reasonably good, efficient in a German style - with basic politeness but no excessive courtesy. My only issue is that it took... More

We were four people for dinner and had very friendly and competent service, great wine and really good, authentic Austrian food in a decent and still easy-going atmosphere. Would certainly go there again. Prices are not low, but very well spent on what you get.

I had read that they served one of the best Wiener Schnitzels in Berlin. When I got there, I discovered that this is an upscale restaurant with upscale prices. The restaurant is very attractive and the courtyard seating is fantastic. The service was as good as any upscale restaurant you will find anywhere. But the food was not all that... More

Restaurant Riehmers is a classic, professional restaurant in Kreuzberg, Berlin (close to Mehringdam U-Banh). The food is great, the service is friendly and attentive, but discreet. We had a menu, that follows here in german: Gebratene Jacobsmuschel mit Salat von grünem und weißem Spargel Geschmorte Keule und gebratener Rücken vom Wildschwein mit grünem Spargel und Portweinschalotten Rhabarber-Cheesecake mit Joghurteis The... Ended up here on a Saturday night whilst staying in Bergmannstraße. We were looking for somewhere a little classier that the trendy cafe style places near our apartment and this fit the bill perfectly. We had a lovely evening with great food and friendly service. The lentil soup starter and cod main course were excellent choices. Highly recommended.

Very good all round restaurant overlooking a lovely courtyard. Ideal for couples. I had hoped to find a restaurant that served Boar and had read this one did. However, as it was still the summer menu I settled for the Ox cheeks. I was not disappointed. They were served in the richest gravy imaginable, a very hearty meal indeed. Reasonably... More

Just by chance is was staying in a flat in front of the restaurant, being tired i felt like going right in front and they told me was a good Austrian restaurant..... well, i wasn't Austrian since it changed ownership. We were three people and really enjoyed the dinner, the owner was really friendly and at the end we did... More

Description
The RIEHMERS restaurant is a gastronomic jewel in the prospering Berlin district Kreuzberg. The symbiosis between the excellent cuisine created by the master hand of Mr. Benjamin Selling and the warm, charming, humorous service of the comedian and restaurant proprietor Hartmut Guy embody the special charm of the RIEHMERS restaurant.

Arriving and feeling immediately right at home, "living the life of Riley", enjoying some good wine and getting spoiled by professional hands - that is the motto of your visit in our restaurant.

This is the standard you demand when visiting our restaurant as we provide passionate gastronomy.

Our restaurant is - as you might call it - zeitgeisty. With down-to-earth prices and offers, always prepared with the freshest and best products at its highest level.

When visiting the RIEHMERS restaurant you should take a little time - also for yourself.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
