Came in without a reservation, was pretty packed, but they agreed to squeeze us in if we finished and left in 90 minutes – was worked well. No English was spoked, so I got a chance to mix my broken German with my broken Spanish – and managed to order for the table ;-) Was actually not that complicated… we... More

Wonderful tapas place with expected, traditional tapas food. Which lacks some surprises or individual dishes. We loved the atmosphere and watched one of the first European soccer games in the restaurant. Good service.

I have been to the restaurant several times (and just booked to go again!). The food is so tasty and there are lots of options. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. You should book in advance as it is quite small and popular. They have 50 different tapas options on a Sunday and dancers on... More

Spanish restaurant with good pricing, 10 to 20EUR. The food was ok but not much more, had a mexican steak with some tasty heat sauce. The environment ok but with tv and big screen it seems to be a noicy place when there is a fotball game going on.

My wife (and friends) and I have been at this place on several occasions. Beside great variations of Cocktails they offer a very nice menue indeed. Try the Paella a la El Espanol, it's simply the best one you can get outside Spain indeed. Gambas ala Hijos would be recommended as great starters. However, Service is tremendously. You don't feel... We were visiting with friends and looking for a Spanish restaurant and this one was in the neighborhood. It's a small but cozy restaurant with an extensive menu. My husband and I shared a vegetarian paella. (I know, I know, paella is supposed to have seafood but my husband is allergic). The vegetarian version was outstanding and although it is... More

Make sure you have reservations for night. The place is full. We ordered some tapas and baby calamari is especially good with some perfect garlic sauce. Also the meat dishes are really good. (lamb something) Sangria is very much like the ones we had in Barcelona. Totally visit again.

I knew there was something wrong when I asked for a "vino tinto de la casa" and the waitress asked me if I wanted red or white. None of the waiters spoke Spanish and the menu was overladen with clichéd and very overpriced tapas and highly priced cheap Spanish wines. A real tapas bar this is NOT. Looks to me... More

I've tried a few Spanish places in Munich and this is my absolute favourite. It's a little rustical but probably also why I like it. Walking in the first thing that greets one is the flatscreen that is more likely than not showing the Primera Division. On the walls are the Jamon legs being hung out to dry. Seems a... More

If you're in for Spanish food in Munich you have many options but as a Spaniard I have to admit that most of them are quite average. El Español offers a nice atmosphere, some good typical Spanish drinks such as sangría and a menu which, although very limited, offers some really nice dishes. It's just a pity they don't renew...
