My husband took me to Cafe Luitpol for breakfast for my birthday. We both chose a set breakfast from the menu which sounded like a lot of food so I wasn´t sure, but because it sounded so yummy we decided to go for it anyway....When the waiter came with the order we were shocked, it was so tiny , we´ve never seen anything like that, even for fancy places. The amount of food was so little that even the smoothie was on the plate to fill up the space. We were obviously still hungry afterwards so after paying a ridicolously expensive bill we decided to go somewhere else for a proper breakfast. Fancy is ok, little portions can also be ok, but this....this is the biggest rip off! don´t go there! beware!More

Very disappointing experience and do not recommend this place after several visits. In general the service is slow and unfriendly but our last visit made it clear that this place does not value its customers. So if you don’t to ruin your morning don’t go...there. My husband and I waited for 10 mins in line before hostess approached us. As we did not have a reservation she said we have to wait, so we stepped a side and waited. Two couples behind had reservation but the hostess did not offer them a table also and they also had to wait for some time because the place was full so I guess the overall management is bad. After additional 20 min of waiting and seeing that several tables freed up (plus no one apart from us was waiting for the table by that time) we approached the hostess asking if we can take the table which is now free. She very rudely said “didn’t you understand from the beginning that everything is reserved and you have to wait?”. Is this is what your tell your customers after they’ve waited for more than 30 mins to get a table? After that comment we instantly left the building and will never come back to this place, thanks to the “lovely” hostess with very rude attitude.More

Slow service! Overpriced and poor quality. We had to wait 35 minutes for a piece of cake and a cup of tea on a weekday!More

Ordered a lasagna which costed 30 euros. Consisted of 3 lasagna sheets, hard, chewy meat and had no sauce. 2 out of three deserts were quite ok though. The place is extremely overpriced and is NOT worth it. Would absolutely not recommend.More

Dear guest, we are sorry that you were not satisfied with our service and food. We are amazed at your stated price of the lasagna. This was less than 20 euros. But of course this does not excuse the quality that you have complained about....More

Ordered lamb and lasagna. Lasagna was ok nothing to complain about but also nothing great. The lamb on the other hand, was just unacceptable. I had a surprise, sharp, about 1cm big glass piece in the side of taboule. Luckily I had just started biting...down and it got caught between my teeth instead of in tongue or throat or worse! In the end did not pay for the lamb but NOTHING can excuse sharp glass in food.More

We found this place as soon as we arrived in Munich after a long ride so we decided to stop for a small coffee and to go to the toilet. My mom and my boyfriend asked for a deca and I went to the bathroom....After that, my mom followed me there. We lost her phone and I then found it outside and I brought her coffee with me and and an employer started shouting at my mom she had to pay for her coffee in an aggressive way. She then stated she already paid and he kept going on saying she had to pay. After that my mom wanted to confront him about that as that’s not professional at all and just said he was “maleducato” which means he was RUDE. He then came to us saying we told him to f*ck off while we never said that and kept being rude even when we left. For such a nice MICHELIN GUIDE RATED RESTAURANT I don’t think this is an acceptable behavior. We have the waiter’s name in case the owner will reply to this review.More

We were on this famous cafe today in the afternoon. We were waiting more than 15 minutes until the waiter came to us just asking what we wanted before giving us the menu. After this, once we ordered and the waiter (Called Nikko, as it...was written on his shirt) came, the table was still dirty from the previous costumers. He came with our drinks and the cup and plate from the coffee were really dirty. At the end we had to tell him three times to pay as he was walking around and didn’t bring us the bill. I always give an opinion when the restaurant is really good but I also have to post this as the Cafe is supposed to be one of the most famous in the city and appear in Michelin guide but the service wasn’t what you’re expecting for. (The cakes were really good but with this service you don’t enjoy eating them)More

My friend and I wanted to have dinner, so we arrived in front of the Cafe Luitpold. Despite the restaurant wasn't very full, it took a lot of time for the waiter to welcome us (passing in front of us many times but ignoring us)....He continued to stay as cold as ice during all the time we stayed. He was not welcoming AT ALL. However, the food was excellent. We wish the food had been as good as the service but, unfortunalely, it wasn't. Dear waiter, make an effort for the next customers..More

Went to café with my husband to enjoy a lovely breakfast during our trip to Munich. At first we were surprised by almost being walked into by the staff , totally ignored as we seated ourselves. After 15 minutes of waiting, seeing staff walking by...us many times, my husband decided to politely ask for menus. He was met by a ‘Shhhs’ and simply being pointed to another staff who was so shaken and scared of the other waitress that she could barely speak. ... we left. The experience has brought much laughter between us as it was definitely the WORST cafè we have ever been to. Food might have been good, but we never got the chance.More
