We ate very well. The restaurant is quite big, with many tables, but the service was very quick and efficient. Strongly recommended if you wish to experience typical Bavarian food and location!

I didn't expect a good restaurant around my stay at Holiday Inn west. But two ladies working at the hotel suggested this place and we decided to go there for the first night at Germany. Great! It's wide open, noisy chat people, good food and...tasty beer! I and my group were entirely satisfied with. Moreover, the server was so nice and kind. He explained all kind of beer and food that we ordered. Wonderful night and thanks for the restaurant.More
I am celiac and asked for a list of allergenes, several options were gluten free. I additionally asked to take care of contamination in the kitchen during the preparation. My experience was rather positive, the staff was friendly and this is always so important! I'll...go again and check if still feels safe for celiacs.More
I love this Biergarten, it was the second time I celebrated my birthday there! Amazing place, food and beer. However the SECURITY STAFF IS TERRIBLE! We opened a champagne meanwhile singing happy birthday and they absolutely freaked out! To start it doesn’t make sense not...to allow champagne since they don’t sell it there, and we were drinking a lot of beers and food from the Biergarten. But ok, we didn’t know about this (strange?) rule. But the security staff came to us SCREAMING, completely RUDE, ignorant, impolite, “inspecting” our bags, as if we were dealing drugs or have committed a very serious crime. They say Latin culture is dramatic, but I can tell you that security team made a whole drama theater there. Complete unnecessary and embarrassing! I guess their job must be very boring because they were so angry and treating us as criminals. They could have done the same thing, without making this ridiculous scene!!! HORRIBLE staff!More
We walked here from the Holiday Inn Express and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! I had the Duck and my wife had a sirloin steak, both were good!we loved the atmosphere!!
We went first without a reservation on a very busy night and was accommodated. The snititzel was so good we went back for our farewell dinner 4 days later.
Stayed recently at a nearby hotel and we made reservations for a dinner here. We arrived early, but were quickly seated and served. Food is great and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
The best Steak, Chicken, or Pork Chop. The deserts are out of this world. If you go in the summer, it is truly an experience you will not forget. The BBQ is on all the way to the end of October. The food is so...good, it does not matter what your taste dictates. The service in the summer is a self service and you better decide quick as the line is long.More
We've been living in Munich for the last 2.5 years and are weekly guests to the Biergarten in spring and summer. We ended up in the restaurant a couple times when it was raining and we had friends to meet up. (Self's service counters are...closed) The service at the restaurant is horribly bad, even for German standard. The waiters barely talked and never reacted to our "thank you". Dishes were smashed on the table. Hot dishes and soups were passed above our 10 month old baby's head. When we asked for an additional plate the waiter just picked an unused plate from the food rest next table (that in front of our eyes). It is outrageously absurd for any countries or cultures. One of our guests had stomach problems and asked for hot water for his herbal tea. Guess what, they charged 3.5 Euros for one cup of boiled tap water! And yet, tips were expected on top of the restaurant price. At the self-service Biergarten just an aisle away the experience is much better (same food and drinks without the restaurant "service" hassles). There are better places for Bavarian food in Munich.More
We ate here on the recommendation of our hotelier. We ate outside although there was inside dining. Service was very good. The food was also good. There was a lively crowd of mainly locals.
I am staying within a 10-minute walk of the Koniglicher Hirschgarten for business and made a reservation there several weeks ago. When I walked in last night for dinner, the table offered was next to the entrance to the toilets. I asked the waiter to...move me, but he had no good options. The room where the first table was located (bar room; no tablecloths) had only large tables). The next room (with tablecloths) had only a few people. The third room (again, with tablecloths) was lively, but I was told that there were no tables. I was then escorted back to the first room where I was pointed to a table by the entrance. I then reminded that I had made my reservation weeks in advance and reconfirmed it, and I asked: Did any thought go into a table for me? I was given a flat NO. I was told: You are only ONE person and we are one of the BIGGEST restaurants in Munich. At that point, I walked out. Clearly, the restaurant does not have customer service in its DNA. There are many good restaurants with excellent service in Munich. This is not one of them. When I left, I remembered passing a nice-looking Italian restaurant on my walk over from the Hotel Laimer Hof; a place called Ristorante Risotto. What a pleasant surprise. Beautiful place; and the staff understood that I had been treated badly elsewhere and made every effort to accommodate. And then I had an incredible meal with great wine suggestions. See separate review. The Koniglicher Hirschgarten was awful, but Ristorante Risotto saved the day. I highly recommend Ristorante Risotto!More
Food quality was certainly above average, service could use some effort but it wasn't something that would ruin your experience. The park though was rather underwhelming, this is nothing different than any other park you'd come across anywhere else. So unless you're into fine craft...beer and people watching - you'd probably be better off spending your precious holiday time somewhere else.More
We live next to Hirschgarten and really the atmosphere, service and food! Try the classic schnitzel large brezel or dishes from the daily menue
This is a large park with plenty to see and do. A must visit would be to the beer garden. The beer garden is very large with plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your brew and food. However, the beer garden is very popular...so plan accordingly in order to ensure a table and not have to wait too long in a food or beer line. Cash only as well.More
Had a fun evening... I had spare ribs, a salad and a dark beer. My gal had pork loin. We also ate a giant pretzel. I’d go again. It was a fun evening :-)
