Last yr we were in Ulm just before Xmas and enjoyed drinks and cakes at Cafe Troglen as a reward for doing the Ulm Munster tower climb. It was a pretty view over the Xmas market. This time the tower climb was closed and it was so cold, that we headed to this cafe for warm drinks. The view over... More

One needs patience when coming here in winter, in summer the eating area is increased by outside tables. Service was excellent and we did not have to wait too long for a table. The coffee and cakes made the wait worthwhile.

This is an upstairs cafe over a bakery with amazing coffee and cakes/pastries with a fabulous view over the square in front of the magnificent cathedral. Well worth a visit.

I had a Mohnschnitte that barely had the flavour of poppyseed, yet it had looked so good when ordered! Latte macchiato was ok. Outdoor seating with rugs for the cold were a bonus. Sadly far too many people were smoking to really enjoy the view .

Such delicious treats! It was the perfect place for an afternoon coffee break. The cafe is upstairs (the takeaway area for sweets is downstairs) and is very cute. The tables by the window offer beautiful views of the Munster and square, but the elevated tables set back a bit from the windows are also nice as well. When you arrive,... More

Great views to the Ulmer Munster if you are lucky to get a table at the window. The interior is not particularly cosy but the high quality of the cakes compensate for it. Troglen also sells sweet souvenirs including the Ulmer Spatz in chocolate.

So proud of myself after reaching the top of the Ulm Munster tower, I felt in need of a reward. This is a busy, bright and cheerful place with a nice cafe area upstairs looking back to the church. The service is quick and cheerful and the cakes are excellent. Try the Sachertorte, it was the best I have ever... More

Great View from the window of this café and the nice formality of coffee and cake in Bavarian style overlooking the magnificent Dom in Ulm - Outside it was pouring rain, inside ... lets have the sachertorte and talk about the amazing wonders we found inside the church opposite.

This is a really lovely café. Scrumptious cakes and lovely fresh orange juice revived us on a hot days in Ulm. We bought beautifully packaged, delicious chocolates as gifts to take home with us. Our waitress was utterly delightful and really put herself out each time we went there.
