Untypical restaurant in a typical Altstadt. Most dishes are served on or in a large pancakes. You could get various combinations of meat or vegetarian meals on them. The portions are rich, combinations are interesting, but tastes are not something spectacular. Enjoy the beautiful old town Ulm, this restaurant is just something to try if you are there for several... More

Being a solo diner I managed a seat at the U shaped bar thanks to the friendly staff. A welcoming & friendly vibe is evident. A huge plate covered with a huge, thin & light pancake topped with a generous amount of whatever you have chosen as a non sweet pancake arrives garnished with lettuce & tomato. It was very... More

Amazing lunch, we had 2 gluhwein, cinnamon sugar pancakes and ham and egg pancakes. Throw in fries for the kid and totaled €25.

I was rather dreading having to face another schnitzel in Germany, but here I found interesting looking salads on the menu. Mine, with hot strips of chicken breast, was fresh and absolutely delicious. Great value too at just over 9 euros, and an attractive old wood-panelled bar room.

We ate here while visiting some friends in Ulm. The atmosphere is cozy, with dark woods and lots of Steins around. Pretty much quintessential German pub feel. The pancakes (similar to a large crepe but cooked in cast iron) had great flavor and consistency. Excellent German food experience!

The photo is what one of us had. The other had one with mushrooms. Both were excellent. We shared a table with a mother and son from another part of Germany and that was our first time sharing a table, but worked fine. Server was attentive. Whole experience was a nice surprise along an interesting street, easy walking from marketplace.

Old German house with nice local beer but a pancake house, no sauerkraut! I'm a sucker for things labeled 'traditional' so had the pork loaf and egg, filling but reminiscent of spam fritters of school days, my wife did better with a pork, onion, bacon and peppers version, bit more expensive but much tastier. Too few staff so service was... More

Although it looks just like any other German Pub, the Allgäuer Hof in the Fischerviertel Old Town of Ulm is well worth the visit for their amazing pancakes. Our waiter was polite but mechanical. However, the pancakes were so good we returned again a couple of days later. The pancakes are 40cm in diameter and ours has caramel sauce, vanilla... More

We ate outside (which wasn't the nicest atmosphere) but the pancakes were good-not great. I had a spinach, runny egg, and raw bacon pancake, while others in my party had Kasespatzle which was excellent. For dessert, we had a pancake with delicious applesauce and whipped cream-a much better choice. Not sure I would return.
