Bouchon is essentially hardcore meat. Wanted my husband to experience authentic Bouchon food and so headed here. Place a bit tricky to find. Authentic old world decor the menu is a set type on all days and all times. They were a bit apprehensive as I don't even eat eggs. Did enjoy my meal of lentil salad which was really... More

Its difficult to locate this place with google maps since the streets are narrow and too many tall buildings and I ended up in the wrong place. Suggest you take a print out of the map with you. We did make a booking and I suggest you do the same. They have a set menu for Euro 27 and you... More

Slightly sanitized version of a typical Lyon restaurant (we were in the newly renovated building which perhaps needs some time to settle in - but was nonetheless very comfortable). But the menu and cooking was every bit the real deal. Egg coddled in rich stock with lardons was sublime, and a gut-busting mixed starter took away the agony of choice.... More

So many good things to say, but only caveat is not to expect fine dining! This is a Bouchon! Busy, but very friendly staff (in France? I know!). They were kind enough to offer us the English menu rather than just assume we didn't comprehend French. My wife and I ordered the set lunch menu for £19.50 per person, which... More

Was there today to have lunch with friends. Took set lunch @€19.90 with starter, main course and desserts. The starter was amazing, chicken for main course was so-so and had fruit salad for desserts. Staff is extremely friendly and the restaurant itself is decorated with many pigs.

I had my worst dining experience at this restaurant. There is bad service and there is people going out of their way to make your visit unpleasant. I do not think that I have been treated as poorly anywhere as I was treated as a paying customer at this establishment. Plates being cleared as I was halfway through a bite,... More

We had read about the traditional workers' lunch places (bouchons) and were determined to try one. This is the best one for an authentic experience. The staff were fantastic (spoke English and had menus in all languages). There was a set entrée but choice of mains and desserts. We went for lunch and it was very busy. We loved the... More

Travelling to Sardinia we stopped for a visit, wow how special is this place ! Travelling from the UK we booked ahead, just as well the place was fully booked on a Monday night. The food is outstanding, the wine was excellent and the special apperative worthy of its presentation. The cheese to finish is out of this world. If... More

If eating at a traditional bouchon is on your bucket list, then Cafe des Federations is the place to visit. The staff were lovely, attentive and very friendly and the food was delicious! The lunch set menu has a great selection of salads for entree, my favourite being the fish/potato mash with traditional sausage. For main, I had the traditional... More

We ate here on the recommendation of a UK blog that we follow, and had a really lovely evening here. The service was absolutely friendly and welcoming. The only thing I would say is that the restaurant seems to do a set menu only at night, which is very good value, but is a LOT of food (I'm not complaining!).... More
