Our tour group dinned here. Without this being organised for us I don't think I would have know about it. We arrived and the restaurant is full with smokers spilling out into the street. All the starters come together, there is no chose here; quite good. I had pork cheeks this came with potatoes and we all shared some deserts.... More

A small popular restaurant serving delicious meals. Reservations required. The ambiance is great, The servers are friendly and attentive. The menu seemed traditional Lyonnaise starting with an amuse bouche and then followed by the 5 appetizer plates. Following the main course you are served a plate of cheeses and then comes your choice of desserts from a large selection.

This was our first meal in Lyon and a great success. It is a traditional "bouchon" and offers many Lyonaise specialties. The prix fixe lunch for about 20 Euro starts with a shared plate that includes charcouterie, lentils du put, herring, and the like. I had and fell in love with quenelles de brochet, which are pike dumplings in crayfish... More

Got to this bouchon in lyon on the 14th of August 2016. The restaurant offers a fixed price menu that goes through the whole lyonnaise dinner experience: - you start with a must-eat, the pouched egg in red wine with bacon (delicious) - to follow with a selection of starters: sade lyonnaise, charcuterie, terrine de sanglier, something else I quite... First and foremost, this place is called "Cafe des Federations" not "Cafe des Confederations". TripAdvisor should fix its listing immediately. Now to the meal. We know this is one of the best bouchons in Lyon and already had some expectations when we went. The bouchon even exceeded our already high expectations. We went for lunch and chose the "Menu du... Went here to celebrate a birthday, now wished we went elsewhere. Food was o.k felt a little bit like a tourist trap. One waitress was amaizing, friendly and could not do enough for you and the other as rude as they come. To top it all, we could not manage the cheese course and waitress took it off our table... I cam here without booking and the hostess was great. She found me a table and came and explained the menu to me. the amount of food one gets is insane. Incredible value for money for some of the best food i've eaten in France. Classic, traditional dishes in a down to earth and cosy restaurant. Dinner consisted of a... More

This was recommended by a Lyon resident who said it was a 'must do' in the city. There were a couple of tables occupied by tourists like ourselves, but generally the conversation around us was in French and very animated. A good sign. The house wines were very drinkable and the menu a celebration of Lyonnaise cuisine - so expect... More

We didn't know much about traditional Lyonnaise fare when we went to Cafe Des Federations but, boy, we sure did learn a lot! It was a great meal -- lots of courses, all of which are delicious -- and a really great experience. Staff was kind and happy to explain the menu (there is an English menu) and didn't rush... More

We got lucky and got a table right before the dinner rush without a reservation. The food portions were generous and very good. I highly recommend getting the quenelle. I had never had one before and this was AMAZING! The servers were very friendly and joked around with us a bit. I will go back every time I'm in Lyon!
